President Ram Nath Kovind Confers Rashtriya Bal Puraskar

President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2020 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. At the event held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, president Kovind conferred the awards to 49 children in the age group of 5-18 years.
The Bal Shakti Puraskar is given to children in the fields of innovation, social service, scholastic, sports, art and culture and bravery and carries a medal, a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a certificate and a citation. These brave children will also participate in the parade on January 26.
Every year the government hands out the Bal Puraskar in recognition given to children for their achievement in various fields like are innovation, scholastic achievements, social service, arts and culture, sports and bravery.

Thakur Gets Special Prize, Champions of Change

Former President Pranab Mukherjee was the chief guest at a special event, where he gave away awards to politicians. Minister of state for finance and corporate affairs Anurag Thakur, was given a special prize, Champions of Change, by the former President. The award was instituted by the Forum of Indian Economy. There were also other winners, including Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

DeKalb High School art students earn Scholastic awards

DeKalb High School art students earned 22 awards in this year's regional Scholastic art and writing competition.
Talented art students from more than 60 high schools within the 32-county, tri-state region competed for Gold Key, Silver Key and honorable mention awards.
This year saw a total of 2,970 art entries from the region. Of those, 837 received awards, and DeKalb High School students captured 22 of them.

SAG Awards 2020 Winners

SAG Awards 2020 winners: Parasite won the SAG Awards 2020 for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, Renée Zellweger won the 'Best Actress' for Judy and Joaquin Phoenix won 'Best Actor' for Joker. The 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) were presented at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on January 19, 2020.
In television awards, Crown won the SAG award for 'Best Ensemble in Drama Series', Jennifer Aniston won 'Best Actress' in drama series for her role in the Morning Show and Peter Dinklage won 'Best Actor' for his role in the popular TV series, Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones took home two key awards- Best actor in a drama series and Best action. Avengers: Endgame won SAG award for 'Best Action in a motion picture'. The winners of the film and television stunt ensembles were announced during the official preshow.

G. V. Raja Award for Anas and Thulasi

Kerala Sports Minister E. P. Jayarajan announced the sports awards instituted by Kerala State Sports Council with Indian sprinter Muhammad Anas winning G. V. Raja Award (Male) for athletics.
Anas had won silver for India in the 400-meter race at Jakarta Asian games.
In the female category, P. C. Thulasi was adjudged the winner for G. V. Raja Award which carries prize money of Rs. 3 lakh and a citation.
