Pakistan Army Chief Inaugurates CIADBAM

Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa inaugurated the state-of-the-art Centre of Integrated Air Defence Battle Management called as CIADBAM.
Pakistan Army Air Defence is equipped with sophisticated, highly accurate and lethal long range weapon systems and the CIADBAM will provide an integrated environment for synchronised and effective articulation of Air Defence battle from top tier of command down to individual weapon systems.
Simulator complex in the facility is capable of projecting various dynamic scenarios which can be configured and developed as per the latest intricacies and challenges of Air Defence Battle.

Tata-Airbus Set to Sign Rs. 22,000-cr Deal to Make Military Planes

The biggest military order placed on the private sector - a deal to manufacture new transport aircraft for the air force - is set to be signed, with the location for the manufacturing plant now being finalised. The Rs. 22,000-crore deal is part of a series of initiatives to promote the private sector in defence manufacturing
The deal with Tata - Airbus is likely to be signed, two weeks after it was given a go ahead by the Cabinet Committee on Security. The signing is likely to include top officials from Tata and Airbus besides the Ministry of Defence.

Surya Kiran Air Show at Chandigarh's Sukhna Lake

The Chandigarh Air Force Station organised in association with the administration of the Union territory an air show at the Sukhna Lake. The event held on the occasion of the Swarnim Vijay Diwas (50th year of victory) of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, saw the participation of the Surya Kiran and other aircraft to observe the country's historic victory on the battlefield. In the coming days, celebrations and air shows will be held across other parts of the country as well.
The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team – formally known as the 'Formation Aerobatics Units' of the IAF – is equipped with state-of-the-art Hawk aircraft built by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Air Marshal V. R. Chaudhari Named Next Chief of Indian Air Force

Air Marshal V. R. Chaudhari will take the reins as the chief of the Indian Air Force after the incumbent, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, retires on September 30.
Air Marshal Chaudhari is presently serving as Vice Chief of the Air Staff.
Air Marshal Chaudhari was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in December 1982.
He has held command, staff and instructional appointments at various levels.

Kerala Police Top List in Tracking Offenders Using Fingerprint Analysis

According to the 2020 report of the Central Finger Prints Bureau (CFPB), Kerala police ranked first in the country in tracking offenders through the use of fingerprints. Last year Kerala was ranked second after Andhra Pradesh.
According to the CFPB report, the Kerala fingerprint bureau cracked 675 criminal cases followed by Karnataka with 517 and Andhra Pradesh came third with 412 cases. The report carried a special mention about the work carried out by the state fingerprint bureau and police in cracking the sensational snakebite murder in Kollam in south Kerala last year.

India, Indonesia Begin Three-day Naval Exercise in Sunda Strait

India and Indonesia held a three-day mega naval war game in the Sunda Strait, in reflection of their growing maritime cooperation.
The Indian Navy deployed its two frontline warships Shivalik and Kadmatt for the third edition of the exercise 'Samudra Shakti'.
The Sunda Strait lies between the Indonesian islands of Java and Sumatra.
The exercise aimed to strengthen the bilateral relationship, enhance mutual understanding and interoperability in maritime operations between the two navies.
In pursuance of India's Act East Policy, exercise 'Samudra Shakti' was conceived in 2018 as a bilateral exercise.

Indo-Nepal Joint Military Exercise Surya Kiran-XV

The 15th India-Nepal joint military exercise Surya Kiran began in the Himalayan border town of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, India. The previous edition of the Exercise Surya Kiran was conducted in Nepal in 2019. The exercise was called off in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The approximately 48-hour exercise will see the participation of at least an infantry battalion from each country's national army. The purpose of the drills is to improve inter-operability with regard to counter-insurgency operations in mountainous terrain. The exercise will also feature academic discussions on subjects ranging from humanitarian disaster relief to high altitude and jungle warfare.

Army to Launch UAV-based Digital Intelligence System

To overcome the functional limitations of ground-based electronic intelligence gathering equipment, the Army has launched a project to develop an airborne system that can be mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Operating height is of great importance as the range and capability of electronic signal capturing equipment, when placed on an elevated platform, enhances manifold. Termed as an elevated platform for gathering intelligence through electronic support measures (ESM), the project is being executed by the Army's Military College of Telecommunication Engineering at Mhow, near Indore. The ESM gather intelligence through passive "listening" to radio transmissions or electromagnetic radiations and the data so generated can be used to assess the enemy's activity.
