Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched 'Switch Delhi', an electric vehicle mass awareness campaign, to sensitize citizens about the benefits of switching to electric vehicles.
Delhi's government has rolled out incentives on the purchase of electric vehicles (EVs) among all the states.
"Our vision is that by 2024, 25 per cent of new vehicles must be electric. Approximately Rs.30,000 subsidies are to be given for 2/3-wheelers while Rs.1.5 lakh for 4-wheelers. We are starting the 'Switch Delhi' campaign today to make people aware of clean vehicles," said Kejriwal in his video conference.
Kerala Approves Scheme to Provide pension, other Benefits to MGNREGS Workers
The Kerala Cabinet approved a scheme to ensure those employed under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in the poll-bound state get benefits like pension and medical assistance. It has recommended that Governor Arif Mohammad Khan issue an ordinance in this regard.
State Finance Minister Thomas Isaac said that Kerala is the first state to introduce such a welfare scheme. The state government and local bodies will give an equal contribution and Rs. 50 will be deducted from a worker's salary every month for it. Besides retirement benefits, the workers will get the festival allowances and other facilities.

Assam Governor Gives Nod to Law Converting Govt-run Madrasas to Regular Schools
Assam Governor Jagadish Mukhi has given his assent to a Bill passed by the assembly last month that allowed converting government-run madrasas into regular schools.
Assam CH said that with this we mark a historic era for the education sector of Assam as all government madrasas will now be run as regular educational institutes.
With the new provision coming into effect, two earlier legislations, the Madrasa Education Provincialisation Act, 1955 and Assam Madrasa Education Act, 2018, will stand repealed.

Punjab CM launches 'Har Ghar Pani, Har Ghar Safai' mission
To accomplish the goal of 100 percent potable piped water supply in all rural households by 2022, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh launched the 'Har Ghar Pani, Har Ghar Safai' mission as part of the state government's campaign.
He also inaugurated one Mega Surface Water Supply Scheme covering 85 villages in the Moga district, 144 new water supply schemes for 172 villages, 121 Arsenic, and Iron removal plants. The scheme is being funded by the World Bank, Jal Jeewan Mission of GoI, NABARD, and State Budget.
Assam CM Launches Schemes For College Students, Literary Bodies
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched two schemes to provide monetary assistance to college students and literary bodies of the state.
Under Pragyan Bharati scheme, 3,26,046 college students were given Rs 1,500 each for purchasing textbooks, while a total of Rs 161 crore was reimbursed for the free admission of 4 lakh eligible students.
The second scheme is Bhasha Gourab, under which the state government provided 21 Sahitya Sabhas (literary bodies) with a total of Rs 43 crore as a contribution towards their corpus funds.
14 New Minor Forest Produce Items Included Under MSP Scheme
The government has decided to include 14 new minor forest produce items under the mechanism for marketing of minor forest produce through a minimum support price scheme to provide remunerative and fair prices to tribal gatherers of forest produces. Newly included items are Tasar Cocoon, elephant apple dry, bamboo shoot, malkangani seed and wild dry mushroom among others.
The Central government had introduced a minimum support price for a selected list of minor produce items through mechanism for marketing of Minor Forest Produce through Minimum Support price and development of Value Chain of MFP Scheme in 2011. It aims to provide a social safety net to these underprivileged forest dwellers, and to aid in their empowerment.

Govt. to Amend Apprenticeship Act to Enhance Opportunities for Youth
To enhance opportunities for youth, the government proposed to amend the Apprenticeship Act and realign the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme for a post-education apprenticeship, training of graduates and diploma holders in engineering.
Presenting the Budget for 2021-22 in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that over Rs. 3,000 crore will be set aside for this purpose.
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme was launched in 2016.
The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme for providing post-education apprenticeship, training of graduates and diploma holders in Engineering shall be realigned and over Rs. 3,000 crore will be provided for this purpose.
