Governing body of Vatan Prem Yojana held its first meeting in September. The Vatan Prem Yojana was launched earlier in 2021.
They held the meeting at Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Presentation of details of the scheme was put before the Chief Minister.
Governing body proposed works to the tune of Rs. 1,000 crore, which have to be completed by December 2022.
Vatan Prem Yohana is a repackaged version of Madar-e-Vatan scheme by the state government of Gujarat. Madar-e-Vatan has been renamed due to association of the title with Persian language.
Arunachal Pradesh Launches Two Agri Schemes
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu launched two credit-linked schemes in the state to boost agriculture and horticulture sectors and to ensure doubling of farmer's income. Mr. Khandu said that State-level and district-level committees have been constituted for selection of beneficiaries for the schemes.
He said the district-level committees headed by the respective deputy commissioners and district agriculture officers and district horticulture officers, would select the beneficiaries and submit the list to the State-level committees for approval.
Mr. Khandu appealed to the officials of both the Departments to stick to the timeline for the schemes saying that Agriculture and Horticultre Departments cannot be compared with other Departments as both deal with schemes on a seasonal basis.

J-K LG Sinha Inaugurates 'Saath' Initiative for Women Associated with SHGs
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched Rural Enterprises Acceleration Programme titled 'Saath' for Self Help Group (SHG) women.
There are 48000 SHGs in Jammu and Kashmir. Four lakh women are connected to these SHGs. This Saath initiative will stress on mentoring and market linkages of products created by these women. It is our aim to create 11000 more SHGs in the coming year. This will transform the lives of these women and make them independent and strong in social and financial aspects.
Saath is aimed at accelerating livelihoods of rural women, associated with SHGs and which are doing small works. There is not much profit in their work and there is a lack of knowledge about marketing, packaging and branding. This initiative aims to teach women such skills and convert their businesses into Higher Order Enterprises.

Punjab to Launch 'Mera Kaam Mera Maan' Scheme to Help Unemployed Youth
The Punjab Cabinet gave a nod to a new scheme that will help the unemployed youth in the state to hone their skills and increase their chances of getting a job. These youngsters will be given short-term skill training free of cost under the ''Mera Kaam Mera Maan" scheme of the state government. A target of 30,000 beneficiaries has been proposed, at a cost of Rs. 90 crore.
The scheme also provides an employment assistance allowance of Rs. 2,500 per month for a period of 12 months from the start of the training course, which will be conducted at Punjab Skill Development Mission training centres.
The allowance shall be given during the training period, and after successfully completing the training, during the pre-placement and post-placement period of 12 months from the date of the start of the programme.

Govt. Replaces Unmanned Aircraft Systems Rules 2021
The civil aviation ministry notified the liberalised Drone Rules, 2021 that replace the Unmanned Aircraft System Rules (UAS), 2021, which came into force in March 2021. The new rules are aimed at making it significantly easier for people and companies to own and operate drones. They also streamline a labyrinthine certification process for manufacturers, importers and users.
Quantum of fee reduced to nominal levels and delinked with the size of the drone. For instance, the fee for a remote pilot license fee has been reduced from INR 3000 (for large drones) to INR 100 for all categories of drones; and is valid for 10 years.
No permission is required for operating drones in green zones. Green zone means the airspace up to a vertical distance of 400 feet or 120 metres that has not been designated as a red zone or yellow zone in the airspace map; and the airspace up to a vertical distance of 200 feet or 60 metres above the area located between a lateral distance of 8 and 12 kilometres from the perimeter of an operational airport.

Ministry of Jal Shakti Launches 'SUJALAM' Campaign
Ministry of Jal Shakti has launched a '100 days campaign' named SUJALAM to create more and more Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus villages by undertaking wastewater management at the village level. The campaign would help in the management of the wastewater and in turn, would help to revive the water bodies through the creation of 1 million soak-pits and also other greywater management activities. The campaign started in August 2021, is part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations.
Maharashtra Launches Vatsalya Scheme for Women
Maharastra's Minister for Women and Child Development, Yashomati Thakur launched a scheme, 'Mission Vatsalya' for women who lost their husbands to COVID-19.
Mission Vatsalya is aimed to serve around 18 benefits, schemes, services to such women from rural areas with impoverished backgrounds.
Efforts are being made by the Department of Women and Child Development to provide 18 different services to help such women as well as help them to get the certificates they need. This includes a number of schemes like Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, Gharkul Yojana for these women.
