Professor Thalappil Pradeep Named for 25th Nikkei Asia Prizes 2020 in S&T
A faculty member at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras and Padma Shri awardee Professor Thalappil Pradeep has been conferred with the 25th Nikkei Asia Prizes (2020) in Science and Technology (S&T) category in recognition of his pioneering work in nanotechnology-based water purification.
The prize includes a cash component of 3 Million Yen and an award certificate and is scheduled to be awarded in Tokyo, Japan later 2020.

Shobhana Narasimhan Honoured by American Academy of Arts and Sciences
Shobhana Narasimhan has been elected as an International Honorary Member to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
She is a professor from the Theoretical Sciences Unit (TSU) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR).
She has been honoured for her distinguished work in the field of sciences. She has done remarkable work on the rational design of nanomaterials, determining the affect of lowering of dimensionality and reduction of size on the properties of material.

J&K's Panchayats Bag Three National Award For Their Outstanding Contribution
Jammu and Kashmir UT has bagged three national awards under separate categories for outstanding contribution by its Panchayati Raj Institutions towards socio-economic development of Gram Panchayats, adopting child-friendly practices and preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plans at the panchayat level.
The awards were given under three different categories viz. Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar (NDRGGSP), Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP) Award, Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India to recognize the efforts and work done by the best performing panchayats all over the country.

Award Set Up For Young Officers Of Indian Railway Traffic Service
The Asian institute of Transport Development (AITD), headed by KL Thapar, has announced an award of Rs 50,000 to young officers of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) for developing and managing SETU, a platform for providing transport solution in this hour of crises.
AITD is a New Delhi-based institute based in Delhi working on transport issues and enjoys a consultative status with the United Nations

Higginbotham has received the William E. Colby Award, given for an outstanding book on military or intelligence history. The awarD is named for the late CIA director. It's presented by Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, and sponsored in part by the Chicago-based Pritzker Military Foundation
