Nelson Mandela Day

South Africa's first black President, Nobel Prize winner and anti-Apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela's birth anniversary, on 18 July, is observed as Nelson Mandela International Day across the world. Nelson Mandela had dedicated his life fighting for human rights and he believed that everyone has the potential to make a difference in their communities for the world to be a better place. Mandela Day is an occasion for all to take action and inspire change.
Accordung to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, even before the (coronavirus) pandemic, inequality was a global plague. Today, this injustice is clear to all.
Fondly referred to as Madiba, Nelson Mandela touched lived where ever he went. In November 2009, in recognition of his contribution to the peace and freedom, the UN General Assembly declared July 18 as "Nelson Mandela International Day" and a resolution was passed paying tribute to his values, dedication to conflict resolution, fight for racial inequalities and protection of human rights. The resolution acknowledged his contribution to the struggle for democracy internationally.

World Day for International Justice

World Day for International Justice, also referred to as Day of International Criminal Justice or International Justice Day, is an international day celebrated throughout the world on July 17 as part of an effort to recognize the emerging system of international criminal justice. July 17 is the date of the adoption of the treaty that created the International Criminal Court. On 1 June 2010, at the Review Conference of the Rome Statute held in Kampala (Uganda), the Assembly of State Parties decided to celebrate 17 July as the Day of International Criminal Justice.
Each year, people around the world use this day to host events to promote international criminal justice, especially support for the International Criminal Court.
The theme for World Day for International Justice is "Closing the Inequalities Gap to Achieve Social Justice".

World Youth Skills Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a digital conclave, on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day (WYSD).
This day marked the fifth anniversary of the launch of Skill India Mission. The conclave was organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
WYSD is an event recognised by the United Nations and is celebrated on July 15 every year. It was designated by the General Assembly (UNGA) in 2014.

Fifteenth Summit between India and the EU

The 15th Summit between India and the European Union was held in virtual format. India was represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The EU was represented by Charles Michel, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
According to a Joint Statement of the India-EU Summit, the leaders decided to strengthen the India-EU Strategic Partnership, based on shared principles and values of democracy, freedom, rule of law, and respect for human rights, aiming at delivering concrete benefits for the people in India and the EU.
As the world's two largest democracies, India and the EU affirmed their determination to promote effective multilateralism and a rules-based multilateral order with the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation at its core.

Bastille Day

Bastille Day is the common name given in English-speaking countries to the national day of France, which is celebrated on 14 July each year. In French, it is formally called Fête nationale and commonly and legally 'le 14 juillet', 'the 14th of July'.
The French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France, one that has been reported as the oldest and largest military parade in Europe is held on 14 July on the Champs-Élysées in Paris in front of the President of the Republic, along with other French officials and foreign guests.

Malala Day

The United Nations (UN) designated 12th July of every year as Malala Day, to commemorate the birthday of Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist and the youngest recipient of the Nobel Prize for peace. In 2013 first "Malala Day: An Education for All Children" was celebrated. HarperCollins India, documents a book about the challenges faced by 25 brave girls for their right to education.
The Former Secretary General of United Nations Ban Ki Moon nicknamed Malala's 16th Birthday as Malala Day.
The United Nations (UN) designated July 12 as Malala Day on 12th July 2013, the 16th Birthday of Malala Yousafzai to honour the courage and determination of the young activist and the rights of women and children all around the world.
Malala became an international icon for girl's education after she was shot in head by the Taliban on 9th October 2012 for speaking out on the Taliban's restriction on girl's education in Pakistan.
Malala with her father founded the Malala funds in 2013 to create awareness about the social and economic impacts of Girls education.
She was appointed as the United Nations Messenger of Peace in April 2017 by the Secretary General António Guterres to create awareness on the importance of girl's education.
