National Safe Motherhood Day
National Safe Motherhood Day is observed annually on April 11, 2022 in India, emphasising the importance of antenatal care in pregnancy, as well as skilled care during childbirth and the first few weeks after birth. The ultimate goal of the day is to provide better medical care in order to reduce the maternal mortality rate or ratio, which can be defined as deaths caused by pregnancy or childbirth complications.
Since 2003, National Safe Motherhood Day has been observed, which was first proposed by the (WRA).
