Originally, World Heart Day was observed on the last Sunday of September, with the first celebration taking place on September 24, 2000.

World Maritime Day

In 1948, an international conference in Geneva passed a resolution that led to the foundation of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to look after the business and operations in the maritime industry. The organisation's role was aimed at looking after technological collaboration, environmental regulation, and legal issues, and to ensure safety for every member of the workforce. Decades after its establishment, the International Maritime Organization declared the last Thursday of every September as World Maritime Day. World Maritime Day was observed for the first time on March 17, 1978.

World Rabies Day

Antyodaya Diwas
Every year, Antyodaya Diwas is celebrated in India on September 25 to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and remember his life and legacy.
Antyodaya Diwas is a day of remembrance and celebration of his life and legacy and he was one of the most prominent figures in India's political history. He was a co-founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) and a thinker of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Upadhyaya is also known for his efforts to uplift the poor and less fortunate, and so his birth anniversary is celebrated on Antyodaya, which means 'rising of the last'.
In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the day in honour of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He was a leader and a veteran politician and had a key influence on Bharatiya Jana Sangh from which the BJP emerged.
