Army Launches Indigenous 'SAKSHAM' Anti-Drone Grid to Boost Air Defence
The Indian Army launched the indigenous 'SAKSHAM' Counter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Grid, a cutting-edge command and control network designed to detect, track, identify, and neutralise enemy drones in real time.
According to sources within the army, SAKSHAM (Situational Awareness for Kinetic Soft and Hard Kill Assets Management) represents a major leap in integrated airspace control.
Developed in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Ghaziabad, the system operates on the secure Army Data Network (ADN) and provides a unified "Recognised UAS Picture" across the newly defined Tactical Battlefield Space (TBS) - a domain extending up to 3,000 metres (10,000 feet) above ground level.

Rajanth Singh Inaugurates National Conference on Defence Manufacturing in New Delhi
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a national-level conference on 'Opportunities in Defence Manufacturing in the Country' at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Organised under the aegis of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence (MoD), the conference aimed to provide a focused platform for strengthening coordination between the MoD and State/Union Territory governments. The objective is to align regional industrial policies and infrastructure development with the national goal of achieving self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
During the event, the Defence Minister launched the new Defence Exim Portal, designed to streamline the issuance of export and import authorisations. In addition, the Srijan DEEP (Defence Establishments and Entrepreneurs Platform) portal, a digital repository mapping the capabilities and products of Indian defence industries, was also unveiled.
