Iran Unveils New Missile with Reported Region-wide Range

Iran unveiled a new missile with a reported range that would allow it to reach both US bases in the region as well as targets inside its archfoe Israel.
The missile has solid fuel and a range of 1,450 kilometers, or 900 miles. It is called the Khaibar-buster, a reference to a Jewish castle overrun by Muslim warriors in the early days of Islam.
It said that the missile has high accuracy, is manufactured completely domestically, and can defeat missile shield systems. The information has not been independently verified.

Maj Gen Chhibber Takes over as NCC Additional Director General

Major General Rajiv Chhibber took over as the 9th Additional Director General of the National Cadet Corps' Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate.
In his 33 years of service, he has held prestigious command and staff assignments, including a foreign tenure as adviser to Commander, Botswana Defence Forces, where he ensured military training on the Indian pattern, thus negating the influence of other Asian countries.

Cochin Shipyard Delivers Three Floating Border Out-Post Vessels to BSF

The Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) delivered the three Floating Border Out-Post (FBOPs) vessels to the Border Security Force (BSF). With this, the Shipyard has delivered six vessels out of nine FBOPs being built for the BSF.
CSL General Manager A Sivakumar signed the delivery and protocol documents with Kumal Mazumdar, the DIG of BSF, in a function held at Kolkata.
The three FBOPs were built for the Water Wing of the BSF.

Sea Trials of 1st Sea Sortie of 5th Scorpene Submarine 'Vagir' Begins

The Indian Navy's brand-new submarine, the fifth of the six French-designed Scorpene-class submarines named "Vagir", sailed out on its first sea sortie and will now undergo rigorous trials before it is delivered to the Navy later this year. The submarine-designated "Yard 11879" during its construction by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) in collaboration with the Naval Group of France will be named "Vagir" after it is commissioned into service.

G. A. Srinivasa Murthy is Director of DRDL

Senior scientist G. A. Srinivasa Murthy was appointed director of Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Hyderabad. He joined DRDL in the year 1987 and made significant contributions in the area of structural dynamics, ground resonance testing, electrical integration and checkout for various projects of the missile complex.
G. A. Srinivasa Murthy completed his BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Andhra University in 1986 and pursued his ME in Digital Systems from Osmania University in Hyderabad.

Maj Gen Korpal is Judge Advocate General of Army

Major General Vijay Kumar Korpal was appointed as the Judge Advocate General (JAG) of the Army. He is the chief legal adviser to the Army Chief and be responsible for the functions of the Army's legal department.
Prior to this, he was serving as the Deputy Judge Advocate, Headquarters Eastern Command at Kolkata. He took over from Maj Gen Praveen Kumar. Maj Gen Korpal belongs to Jalandhar and is an alumnus of DAV College, Jalandhar.
