Second Barge of LSAM 16 Series Delivered to Navy

The Indian Navy said that the second barge of the LSAM 16 (Yard 126) series built by a private firm was delivered to it, and its induction will provide impetus to the operational commitments of the naval force by facilitating transportation of articles, ammunition to ships.
The barge delivered in Mumbai has been built under the classification rules of Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) with a service life of 30 years. With all major and auxiliary equipment/ systems sourced from indigenous manufacturers, the Barge is proud flag bearer of 'Make in India' initiatives of the Ministry of Defence.

Maritime Partnership Exercise between Indian Navy Ship and Sri Lanka Navy Ship Concludes

The Maritime Partnership Exercise between Indian Navy ship and Sri Lanka Navy ship concluded at Port City, Sri Lanka. The visit concluded at sea off Colombo between INS Delhi and SLN ship Vijayabahu. A clean-up drive at Crow Island beach was jointly undertaken by the visiting ship's crew and personnel from Sri Lanka Navy Ship. As part of 'Arogya Maitri', initiative, the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka presented a state-of-the-art Arogya Maitri Cube to the Hon'ble speaker of Sri Lanka Parliament during a reception hosted onboard INS Delhi. Senior government officials including the Minister for Ports, Shipping and Aviation, the Attorney General Secretary General of defence and all three service chiefs attended.

Second Edition of Naval Commanders' Conference 2023 Held in New Delhi

The Naval Commander Conference 2023 was held in New Delhi from September 4 to 6.
The Conference is the apex-level biannual event facilitating interaction between the Naval Commanders for deliberation and formulation of important policy decisions. The three-day conference was held in hybrid format. The senior leadership of the Indian Navy, under the Chairmanship of the Chief of the Naval Staff, reviewed major operational, materiel, logistics, HR, training, and administrative activities undertaken during the previous six months.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Naval Commanders during the conference and interacted with them. The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) also attended the event.

IPS Officer Yogesh Bahadur Khurania is Head of BSF's Western Command

Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, a 1990-batch Indian Police Service officer of Odisha, assumed charge as the Special Director-General of the Border Security Force's (BSF), Western Command, in Chandigarh. He is responsible for the management of the entire border with Pakistan as well as the administration and deployment of BSF manpower and assets in the Western Sector.
Prior to this, he was serving as Special Director-General (Operations) at the BSF Headquarters in New Delhi. He took over from P. V. Rama Sastry, who has been posted to force's headquarters in his place.

Hyderabad Firm Unveils India's First AI-Powered Anti-Drone System

A Hyderabad-based robotics firm unveiled a state-of-the-art autonomous anti-drone system, powered by artificial intelligence. The system can protect not just vital installations like nuclear installations and oil rigs, but also a wide area encompassing even an entire city, from multiple drones of any kind. This is the first time such a system has been developed in India.
This advanced full-spectrum drone security system capability was demonstrated live on the outskirts of Hyderabad by Grene Robotics, a deep-tech company that specialises in providing AI-powered security solutions for defence, enterprise, and government sectors.
Named Indrajaal, it is said to be the world's only wide-area Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS). It can provide a comprehensive and integrated security mechanism against moving threats that cannot be tackled with static defence systems.

US and Indian Navies Complete Week-long Anti-submarine Warfare Training in the Indian Ocean

The navies of India and the United States completed a week-long joint exercise focused on improving the interoperability in maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare. The 'Tridents' of the patrol squadron VP-26 based out of Florida, the United States, along with the 'Albatross' of the Indian Naval Air Squadron 312 took part in combined anti-submarine warfare. A VP-26 P-8A Poseidon aircraft of the 'Tridents' and a P-8I Poseidon aircraft of the Indian Naval Air Squadron participated in the week-long programme.

Indian Air Force to Carry out Ex Trishul along China and Pakistan

The Indian Air Force is going to carry out a major training exercise codenamed Trishul in the northern sector along the borders with both China and Pakistan.
All major fleets of fighter aircraft including the Rafale, Mirage 2000 and the Su-30MKIs will be participating in the drills along with heavy-lift transport aircraft and choppers including the Chinooks and Apache.
The Garud Special Forces are also part of the drills where all elements of air power are likely to be exercised in the exercise to be held from September 4 to 14 in the northern sector including Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
