Tata Altroz Becomes Official Partner for Upcoming T20 Cricket, Dream11 IPL 2020

Tata Motors' premium hatchback, Altroz will be an official partner for the upcoming T20 cricket, Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The Altroz follows in the path of its stablemates, the Nexon and the Harrier, both of which have been the tournament's official partners, during the 2018 and the 2019 seasons, respectively.

Andy Murray Receives French Open Wild Card

Andy Murray has received a wild-card entry into the French Open which begins on September 27 in Paris.
Murray, a former world No. 1 and finalist at Roland Garros in 2016, was also handed a wild-card entry into the US Open last month where he reached the second round in his first Grand Slam after hip surgery last year.
The Scot was the only non-Frenchman of eight players to be given a free pass into the main draw of the clay Grand Slam where he has not appeared since he lost to Stan Wawrinka in a marathon five-set last-four encounter three years ago.

Ali Khan First US National to Play in IPL

The Kolkata Knight Riders announced that Ali Khan has joined their squad in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is the first United States player to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Notably, Ali was the member of the TKR squad who lifted the CPL T20 trophy earlier this month.
Ali has come as a replacement for English left-arm fast-medium bowler Harry Gurney.

Dominic Thiem Claims US Open Title

Austria`s Dominic Thiem claimed his first Grand Slam title with a stunning comeback to beat Germany`s Alexander Zverev 2-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6(6) in a brutal and nerve-jangling US Open final.
The 27-year-old world number three was beaten in his first three Grand Slam finals.
Thiem is the first male player born in the 1990s to claim a Grand Slam and the first besides the big three of Nadal, Djokovic and Roger Federer to claim one of the majors since Stan Wawrinka won the 2016 U.S. Open.

Ronaldo Second Male Player to Score 100 International Goals

Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo became the second male footballer and the first from Europe to score 100 international goals. The 35-year-old five-time Ballon d'Or winner achieved the feat in his 165th international match. Ronaldo scored his 100th goal after he netted a free-kick in the 45th minute against Sweden in UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo started his international career in 2003.
Iranian striker Ali Daei is the only other footballer in the world to achieve this feat. Daei scored his 100th goal for Iran in his 165th match. It may be recalled that Ronaldo last scored an international goal in November 2019 against Luxembourg.

Novak Djokovic Disqualified from US Open 2020

World number one Novak Djokovic was disqualified in the fourth round of US Open after the Serbian star hit a lineswoman with a ball during his match against Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta.
Djokovic looked frustrated during the match after failing to take the opening set against Busta and it seems that out of frustration he hit the ball to the back of the court, hitting the lineswoman.
The Serbian star, however, immediately apologised for his mistake as the lineswoman gasped in pain and collapsed to the ground.
The lineswoman got to her feet after few minutes and after that tournament referee Soeren Friemel and Andreas Egli, the Grand Slam supervisor, came on the court to discuss the situation with Djokovic. The conversation ended after around 10 minutes and Djokovic walked to his chair and packed up his rackets ending his US Open 2020 campaign.

US Open: Bopanna-Shapovalov Enter Quarterfinals

India veteran Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Denis Shapovalov stunned sixth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies in a hard-fought three-setter to advance to the quarter-finals of the US Open men's doubles event.
Bopanna and Shapovalov will take on Dutch-Romanian combination of Jeal-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau in the quarter-finals.
Bopanna is the lone surviving Indian in the tournament after the exit of Sumit Nagal and Divij Sharan.
