China Launches Tianwen-2 to Collect Asteroid Samples
China launched its Tianwen-2 mission, dispatching a spacecraft to gather samples from an asteroid near to Mars. The China National Space Administration (CNSA) anticipates that this mission will yield groundbreaking discoveries and expand humanity's knowledge of the cosmos.
The Tianwen-2 probe will collect samples from the asteroid 2016HO3. Additionally, it will explore the main-belt comet 311P, situated beyond Mars.

IndiaAI Mission Gets Boost as Compute Capacity Tops 34,000 GPUs
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday announced a major expansion in the country's national AI infrastructure and talent development ecosystem.
Speaking at the 'IndiaAI – Make AI in India, Make AI Work for India' event in New Delhi, the Minister said India's national compute capacity has now crossed 34,000 GPUs, bolstered by the addition of 15,916 new units to the existing 18,417.
The announcement was accompanied by the selection of three more startups to develop indigenous foundation models under the IndiaAI Mission, following a rigorous multi-stage expert evaluation process.

Microsoft Joins India's Yotta Data Services to Boost AI Innovation in Country
Microsoft and Yotta Data Services, India's leading sovereign cloud infrastructure and platform services provider, on Wednesday (28th May, 2025) partnered to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in India.
The partnership enables Microsoft and Yotta to engage with IndiaAI Mission participants, government agencies, IITs, startups, enterprises, and software development companies to leapfrog AI innovation.
Microsoft said it would bring its AzureAI services to Shakti Cloud, Yotta's AI cloud platform, to offer cutting-edge AI capabilities to developers, startups, enterprises, and public sector organisations across India.
China is set to launch its ambitious Tianwen-2 mission to collect samples from a mysterious near-Earth quasi-satellite asteroid, 469219 Kamo'oalewa.
This mission, if successful, will mark China's entry into an elite group of nations capable of bringing asteroid material back to Earth, a feat previously achieved only by the United States and Japan.
Scientists believe the mission could shed light on the origins of quasi-satellites and even the Moon itself.
