IIM Ahmedabad, Bank of America Partner to Set up CDT

  • Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), the global management institution, has partnered with Bank of America to launch a Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT). The Centre aspires to become a vibrant knowledge hub for academia, policymaking, and the private sector by facilitating cutting-edge research on digital transformation and innovation.
  • The Centre for Digital Transformation was launched with an event that was attended by faculty members of IIMA, along with well-known leaders from industry and academic institutions from India and abroad.

Delhi University to Start FYUP

  • Delhi University is once again going to implement a four-year undergraduate course from next year. After the first attempt failed in 2014, now the university's academic council has given its nod to the new structure.
  • A few members raised concern over the structure of the new courses and the implementation of the desired course structure. The university administration is quite sure that this time everything has been made fool-proof and from the academic year 2022-23, this will be implemented in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
  • DU had introduced the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) in 2014. It was scrapped by the government after massive protests by students and teachers the same year.

Tableau, AICTE Partner to Train Students in Analytics

  • Analytics firm Tableau has partnered with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education, Government of India to equip students and educators from AICTE's over 10,500 higher learning institutes with modern data analytics skills.
  • Through the partnership, AICTE plans to train 500,000 students and faculty over the next two years.
  • Through this partnership, Tableau will provide AICTE with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep licenses, access to eLearning, and sample curriculum material co-created with University professors for educators to get started teaching analytics in classrooms.
  • AICTE has selected over 200 educators as Tableau Champions to teach 1-2 other educators from each higher learning institute through a series of workshops and e-learning curriculum.

Advance Certificate Program in Cloud Computing and DevOps by IIT Roorkee

  • The Electronics & ICT (E&ICT) Academy, IIT Roorkee has launched an advanced certification in cloud computing and DevOps. The curriculum of the programme includes cloud computing concepts, DevOps tools, AWS, virtualisation, cloud security. The programme will be offered in partnership with Intellipaat.
  • This course is led by faculty from IIT Roorkee along with industry experts to help professionals gain the most in-demand skills. Through the 7-month-long online programme, learners will undergo multiple hands-on exercises and project work. All the enrolled learners will be provided with career services which include mock interview preparations, one-on-one mentorship.

Cow Dung Products, Boosting Biogas Use IIT Delhi Bags National Competition Award

  • IIT Delhi won the Enactus India National Competition 2021 -- an annual event providing students a platform to showcase the work they do in communities. IIT Delhi bagged the win with two of its projects involving cow dung products and boosting biogas use.
  • The IIT Delhi team is now set to represent India at the World Cup in October 2021. This year, over 110 Enactus college teams in India worked on over 170 social entrepreneurship projects.
  • Over 4,000 students from more than 80 colleges across the country participated in Enactus India National Competition 2021.
  • IIT Delhi's Enactus team presented two projects of which the first one named 'Arth' involved using cow dung to create innovative eco-friendly products including logs, painted lamps, clocks -- all handmade by traditional Madhubani artists.

JIPMER for Makes it to Top 100 in Global Survey

  • Former MP M. Ramadass has hailed the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research's (JIPMER) feat of ranking among the 100 best medical colleges in a recent global survey.
  • Mr. Ramadass said that CEO World Magazine has reported that based on Global Ranking criteria 100 best medical colleges of the world have been selected for the year 2021, among which six Indian medical colleges, including JIPMER, find a place.
  • JIPMER, securing 78.86 credit, occupies 59th position in the 100 best medical colleges of the world and fourth among Indian institutions. The AIIMS Delhi, Armed Forces Medical College Pune, CMC Vellore, Medical College Chennai and IMS BHU Varanasi are the other medical colleges to make to the list.
