IIT Kanpur Launches 4 eMasters Programmes for Working Professionals
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-Kanpur) has announced the launch of four new postgraduate programmes through virtual learning to enable seamless e-learning for working professionals. The course content will be delivered completely online and help upskilling working professionals with industry experience, as per the institute.
The four eMasters include programmes in Communication Systems; Cybersecurity; Power Sector Regulation, Economics & Management; and Derivatives Market and Risk Management.
PM Inaugurates Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of four medical colleges in Banswara, Sirohi, Hanumangarh and Dausa districts of the state via video-conferencing.

IIT-Roorkee Establishes New School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
With a vision to cater to the growing global demand for data analytics and artificial intelligence experts, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has set up a new school of data science and artificial intelligence.
Under this collaboration, the new school will offer bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programmes. The school will welcome its first cohort of bachelor's degree students in September 2022.
The objective of the school is to develop new and skilled manpower in the areas of data science and artificial intelligence along with an aim to empower existing manpower by offering focused trainings and certifications in these fields.
Amazon Launches its Global Computer Science Education Initiative in India
E-commerce giant Amazon has brought its global computer science education initiative, Future Engineer, to India with an aim to offer computer science education to one lakh students from 900 government and aided schools across seven states in India.
The global program aims to enable access to quality computer science education and career opportunities for students from under-represented and under-served communities through in-person, online and blended learning formats.
Amazon is working with its global knowledge partner Code.org, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to computer science education, to offer mobile interactive computer science content to Indian students.
The curriculum is contextualised for the Indian teacher and student community in government school settings. The program will offer students coding fundamentals along with future-focused tech courses like artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing in Indian languages.

Venkaiah Naidu Inaugurates Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Cluster
Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the newly developed Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Cluster (JCKIC) at IIT Jodhpur in the esteemed presence of Kalraj Mishra, Governor, Rajasthan, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Cabinet Minister in Ministry of Jal Shakti. The event was presided over by Dr. R. Chidambaram, Chairman, BoG, IIT Jodhpur.
JCKIC is an initiative of the Prime Minister's Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC) approved under the aegis of the Office of Principal Scientific Advisor, GoI initiated in 2020. The program approved six clusters at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Bhubaneswar, and Delhi. The project aims to create linkages among academic institutions, Research and Development institutes, National and State Research laboratories, Government agencies, and industries of the host city and its surroundings.

NCERT Joins Hands with Tech Avant-Garde, Microsoft for Digital Skills in School Education
India's National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) and Tech Avant-Garde (TAG), Microsoft's Global Training Partner signed an agreement to collaborate for enhancing digital skills among the stakeholders of education so as to facilitate a Connected Learning Community (CLC).
NCERT, Tech Avant-Garde and Microsoft will collaborate to enhance Digital Transformation and Holistic Learning (DTHL) in education, as per Digital India Campaign and National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
TAG will provide Microsoft course content in the format shared by NCERT under the license CC-by-NC-SA. Certificate for the course will be jointly offered by NCERT and Microsoft/TAG as per NCERT format.

IIT Madras Partners with Taylor & Francis Group
The Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (RBCDSAI) at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has partnered with the Taylor & Francis Group with 28 faculty spanning 10 departments.
Researchers at the centre will be able to avail onboarding assistance on publishing processes, open practices, research promotion, and ongoing support from the knowledgeable Taylor & Francis team.
