Kareena Kapoor Khan to Endorse Wow Life Science's Apple Cider Vinegar
Direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand Wow Life Science has appointed actor Kareena Kapoor Khan as the new face for their organic apple cider vinegar.
The brand said that the collaboration with Khan is because of her affinity towards a natural and healthy lifestyle. The actor would be seen promoting the product as a healthy drink across campaigns.
Wow Life Science Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is being positioned as a wellness drink rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and enzymes that help boost overall health. The company said that the current pandemic situation motivating consumers to invest in a healthy lifestyle will benefit its product.
Khan is the third celebrity endorser to join the parent company Body Cupid Pvt. Ltd which also offers skincare and hair care products. In 2020, the company has roped in actor Bhumi Pednekar and Disha Patani as brand ambassador for their skincare and hair care ranges respectively.

Emilio Flores Márquez is World's Oldest Living Man, Sets Guinness Record
The Guinness World Records declared Puerto Rico's Emilio Flores Marquez as the world's oldest living man at the age of 112 years and 326 days. Born in Carolina, east of the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan in 1908, Marquez was recognised by the Guinness as the oldest living man and was awarded a certificate.
Born on August 8, 1908, Marquez is the second oldest child of 11 siblings and spent most of his life working on the family's sugarcane farm.

Editor of 'Sudharma' Sanskrit Daily, K. V. Sampath Kumar has passed away. He, along with his wife, were awarded the Padma Shri honour by the Government of India in 2020 for their contribution to the field of Literature & Education. He has also received several awards like the Siddarudha award, the Shivaratri Deshikendra Media award, the Abdul Kalam award and others.

Former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld Passes Away
Donald Rumsfeld, former U.S. Defense Secretary and one of the architects of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq in 2003, died at the age of 88 in Taos, New Mexico. Mr. Rumsfeld was Defense Secretary during 1975-1977, during the Gerald Ford administration, and then in the George W. Bush administration, during 2001 – 2006.
In 2001, as Defense Secretary, Mr. Rumsfeld oversaw the U.S. strikes in Afghanistan, following the September 11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. The U.S. sought to overthrow the Taliban regime which was providing safe haven to terror group Al Qaeda, which was responsible for the September 11 attacks.
In 2003, Mr. Rumsfeld was a key player in the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq, ostensibly to prevent Saddam Hussein from developing and deploying weapons of mass destruction.

The incumbent Vigilance Commissioner, Suresh N Patel has been appointed as the acting Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) of India in the Central Vigilance Commission with effect. He has been appointed in place of Sanjay Kothari, who completed his term on June 23, 2021. He will remain on the post until the appointment of the new Central Vigilance Commissioner.
The Central Vigilance Commission is headed by the CVC and can have a maximum of two vigilance commissioners. Currently, Mr Patel is the only VC in the commission. The Personnel Ministry has invited applications for the posts of CVC and a vigilance commissioner.
