  • The Badminton Asia Junior Championships is an annual tournament that attracts the best U-19 talent from across the continent. Historically, India has had success in individual and team events but has never won two women's singles medals in the same edition.

India marked a proud moment at the FISU World University Games 2025 in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, as archers Parneet Kaur and Kushal Dalal clinched the country's first gold medal in the compound mixed team archery event. This victory not only adds to India's sporting achievements but also highlights the rising standards of Indian university-level athletes on the global stage, particularly in non-mainstream Olympic sports like compound archery.
The FISU World University Games, often called the Universiade, is a prestigious international sporting event organised every two years by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The 2025 edition was the 32nd was held from July 16 to 27 across six cities in Germany. Nearly 300 Indian athletes participated across multiple disciplines.

  • England beat Spain 3-1 in a penalty shootout and won UEFA Women's EURO 2025, successfully defending the title they won three years ago after an enthralling game that ended 1-1 after extra time.
  • The 2025 UEFA Women's Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Women's Euro 2025 or simply Euro 2025, was the 14th edition of the UEFA Women's Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organised by UEFA for the women's national teams of Europe. The tournament was played in Switzerland from July2 to 27, 2025.

Cricket to be Part of 2026 Asian Games

  • Asian Cricket Council (ACC) convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dhaka, bringing together representatives from all of the organisation's Member nations, where it was decided that cricket will be included in the upcoming Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan, which will see participation 10 (ten) men's and 8 (eight) women's teams from across the continent, to be chosen based on their rankings.
  • The meeting was chaired by Mohsin Naqvi, ACC president and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and was attended by all ACC members.

Badminton Asia Junior Individual Championships 2025

  • India's campaign at the Badminton Asia Junior Individual Championships 2025 being held in Indonesia till July 27 began on a strong note led by commanding performances in the singles events.
  • In women's singles, Vennala Kalagotla impressed with two back-to-back wins -- a swift 21-6, 21-10 win over Alissa Kuleshova in just 15 minutes, followed by a 21-18, 21-16 result against Indonesia's Auberta Zerlina.
  • In men's singles, Pranauv Ram Nagalingam beat Myanmar's Lal Zuidika 21-15, 21-7, Ansh Negi overcame Ding Han Jin 21-16, 21-15.

Minerva Academy Creates History, Becomes First Indian Team to Win World Youth Cup Twice

  • Indian club Minerva Academy FC made its name in the pages of history by winning the World Youth Cup. Minerva continued its winning run in the Gothia Cup 2025 and captured the title. Minerva is the first Indian team to have won the World Youth Cup trophy twice.
  • The Gothia Cup is officially known as "The World Youth Cup" and is the largest international youth football tournament.
  • On the soil of Sweden, among the great clubs from all over the world, Indian youth created history with their game, passion and confidence. This, in itself, is a significant moment for India.
