Regarded as the premier veteran badminton tournament in the circuit, the event continues to grow in prestige, drawing top veteran players from across several districts.
The event, promoted by Badminton Gurukul, has garnered over 20 teams and more than 150 individual entries, reinforcing its reputation as a marquee competition for veteran players, as per a press release from GD Birla Memorial Masters Inter-Club Badminton Tournament.

Kamindu Mendis Creates History in IPL by Bowling with Both Arms

Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis created history in the Indian Premier League. He became the first player ever in the tournament to switch his bowling arm during an over. He did this unique feat during the Sunrisers Hyderabad game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi Elected Chairman of Asian Cricket Council (ACC)

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi was elected as the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for a term of two years. He succeeded Shammi Silva, the head of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
The change of the ACC leadership was confirmed through the annual general meeting of the members of the continental body, which was held virtually.

Reliance and BLAST will partner to develop market-leading Intellectual Properties (IPs) in India and introduce BLAST's global IPs to the Indian market for fans, players, and brands.
BLAST, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Denmark-based BLAST ApS, is one of the biggest tournament organisers in the world. It works with the world's biggest game publishers, including Epic Games, Valve, Riot Games, KRAFTON, and Ubisoft, to create leading global esports properties.

Rob Walter Resigns as South Africa White-Ball Coach

Rob Walter resigned as South Africa men's cricket team's white-ball head coach. According to an official statement released by Cricket South Africa (CSA), Walter submitted his resignation citing 'personal reasons'. The Proteas are yet to announce who will succeed him in the role.
During Rob Walter's tenure as head coach, the South African team reached the T20 World Cup 2024 final. In the summit clash, they were defeated by Rohit Sharma's Team India at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Anahat Singh & Kareem El Torkey Win Indian Open 2025 Squash Titles

The Indian Open 2025 PSA Copper event, held at Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai, saw Anahat Singh and Kareem El Torkey clinch the women's and men's singles titles, respectively. This was Anahat Singh's 11th PSA title, reinforcing her dominance as India's number one-ranked women's squash player. Meanwhile, Egypt's Kareem El Torkey, ranked world no. 64, triumphed over India's Abhay Singh in the men's final. The $53,500 prize money event was the highest-rated PSA tournament in India since 2018 and marked the first-ever PSA Copper event hosted in the country.

Bihar's Rajgir to Host 2025 Asia Cup

Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar will host its second international tournament as Hockey India awarded the Bihar State Sports Authority the hosting rights for the Men's Asia Cup 2025.
The tournament comprising of eight teams will be played from August 29 to September 7 at the newly developed Sports Complex in Rajgir.
Pakistan, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, China along with hosts India will make the six teams in the 12th edition of the continental tournament. The remaining two teams will secure their berth in the tournament via qualifying tournament, the AHF Cup.
The tournament will serve as the qualifiers for the 2026 Hockey World Cup set to be hosted in the Netherlands and Belgium. The winner of the tournament will directly qualify for Hockey WC.

Asian Games Medallist Narender Leads Indian Team at World Boxing Cup in Brazil

Asian Games bronze medallist Narender Berwal headed a 10-member Indian men's boxing team that was handed a mixed draw at the inaugural World Boxing Cup in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, which concludes on April 5.
This is the first event hosted by World Boxing since receiving provisional recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in February and the inclusion of the sport in the 2028 LA Olympics.
It is the first time Indian boxers compete internationally in the new weight categories introduced by World Boxing.

Teenager Mensik Denies Djokovic 100th Title

Nineteen-year-old Czech Jakub Mensik beat his childhood idol Novak Djokovic 7-6(4) 7-6(4) in an upset for the ages, claiming his first ATP title at the Miami Open as he denied the former No. 1 his bid for a milestone 100th.
