Three-year-old Anish Sarkar from Kolkata, India, is defying expectations with his passion for chess, setting aside typical toddler favorites like Peppa Pig and Baby Shark for chess idols like International Master Levy Rozman and Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen. Anish became the world's youngest-rated player, achieving an impressive initial FIDE rating of 1555.
Anish, born in January 2021, took to chess nearly a year ago, around his third birthday.
Initially introduced to various YouTube channels, he became captivated by chess videos, watching them continuously.
His journey gained attention when ChessBase India documented his progress with videos showcasing his understanding of advanced concepts like smothered mate and double-rook sacrifice checkmate.
FIDE was founded on July 20, 1924, in Paris, marking the last day of the first unofficial Chess Olympiad.

Moin-ul-Haq Stadium Redevelopment: Bihar Govt. Signs 30-year Lease with BCA
The Bihar Government and the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), granting the association a 30-year lease on the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna.
The MoU officially transferred the stadium to the BCA and paved the way for the redevelopment of the 55-year-old stadium, which would be transformed into a state-of-the-art international standard sports complex.
It will be renovated with the financial support from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

India Makes Official Move to Host 2036 Olympics
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha said that India's commitment to hosting the 2036 Olympics "remains steadfast" after a letter of intent expressing the country's desire to host the 2036 Summer Olympics and Paralympics was submitted by the IOA to the International Olympic Committee's Future Host Commission.
This signifies the first major official step in implementing India's long-standing ambition to stage the marquee quadrennial showpiece.
With the Summer Games set to take place in Los Angeles, United States in 2028, and Brisbane, Australia in 2032, the decision for the host of the 2036 edition is yet to be decided by the IOC, and is likely to be finalised after the IOC elections slated for next year (2025).
