Bihar Government Approves Culling of Nilgai and Wild Boars (27)
Bihar government decided to get rid of the menace of Nilgai (Blue bulls) and wild boars by giving permission to cull them. The farmers of the state are troubled most by the terror of Nilgai and wild boars damaging their crops at large scale.
Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department Minister Prem Kumar said that the drive to cull them would start in five districts namely, East Champaran, Vaishali, Buxar, Siwan, and Samastipur. The decision was taken after meeting with the concerned officials of the department.
The Minister highlighted that both animals would be killed as per the rules.

Tech Mahindra signed an MoU with the University of Auckland (UoA) to promote innovation in AI, machine learning (ML), and quantum computing. The collaboration will target sectors like healthcare, banking, financial services, insurance, and government, enhancing industry-academic partnerships to boost graduate employability. Focus areas include spiking neural networks, 1-bit large language models (LLMs), and post-quantum cryptography, particularly in healthcare applications such as drug discovery and personalized digital biomarkers.
AI and ML technologies, including spiking neural networks, 1-bit LLMs, and quantum security, will be central to the collaboration, aiming for innovations in drug discovery and personalized healthcare globally.
The partnership will drive joint research between Tech Mahindra and UoA, integrating academic insights with industry use cases for global markets. Generative AI will be introduced to Indigenous communities, and internships will offer hands-on experience in emerging technologies.
All-Rounder Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh Set to Retire from Tests and T20IS
Bangladesh's all time great cricketer Shakib Al Hasan is set to retire from the Tests and modern T20 format. Shakib made the decision public during a press conference ahead of the second India-Bangladesh Test in Kanpur.
He has already played his final T20I, and wishes to bid goodbye to the longer format in the home Tests against South Africa.
He also confirmed that the 2025 Champions Trophy will be his final ODI assignment for Bangladesh.

The Mankidia community became the 6th particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) to get habitat rights over forests in Odisha. The Mankidia are a semi-nomadic community known for their traditional skill of rope making, trapping and eating monkeys.
The Mankidia community is an Austro-Asiatic community that ekes out a living mainly from the forests.
They constitute a semi-nomadic section of the Birhor tribe.
They have been identified as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) in Odisha.
They are primarily a food gathering and hunting community.
They are one of the most little-known forest dwelling and wandering communities of the state as well as the country.
24 Parliamentary Standing Panels Formed: BJP to Lead 11, Allies 4, Opposition 9
Eleven of the 24 Parliamentary Standing Committees announced will be chaired by the BJP, nine by the Opposition parties, and four by the NDA allies. The Congress has been granted Chairs of four committees, while two each have gone to DMK and TMC, and one to the Samajwadi Party.
