In this question, it does say that humor causes relief from psychological tension and facilitates the process whereas laughter results from releasing this tension. Then isn't it humor that induces it, not laughter?

Complete the notes below. Choose ONLY ONE WORD from the text for each answer.

ASCHOFF'S EXPERIMENTS

How Aschoff studied the biological clocks
- Built an underground Blank 1 in the countryside
- 200 participants studied over a period of twenty years
- All participants living without knowing the time
- Studied participants both individually and in small groups

Findings of Aschoff et al
- Our biological Blank 2 not set to run on a 24 hour cycle
- Participants lost track of time
- Our biological rhythms – e.g., Blank 3 and body temperature - operate independently of one another

Extrapolation of Aschoff's experiments
From Aschoff studies, we now know that there are three clocks that help us formulate our understanding of time:
Body Clock: controlled by internal biological rhythm and is dependent on Blank 4
Solar Clock: depends on Earth's cycle of day and night
Social Clock: dictated by alarms and our work commitments
