These events, organised by the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Division, will bring together academicians, cultural experts, and conservationists to initiate a multi-country dialogue, positioning the elephant as both a revered cultural icon and a living emblem of ecological resilience.

  • The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) hosted the Culmination Ceremony of 75th anniversary of National Sample Survey (NSS) on November 18, 2025 at The Ananta, Udaipur. This event marked the successful conclusion of the year-long celebrations held at national/regional level across the country recognising the invaluable contributions of NSS to the development of India's statistical system and providing platforms for dialogue and knowledge exchange to engage with citizens, students, policymakers, academicians, stakeholders, etc.

C-DOT Signs MoU with AP Government to Participate in Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) Initiative

  • Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh Government to participate in Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) initiative. The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) is the premier telecom R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, engaged in the design, development of indigenous telecom solutions and deployment of cutting-edge communication technologies to meet the country's strategic and socio-economic needs. C-DOT has now pioneered development of Quantum Security solutions which have already seen widespread installations at multiple places including premier academic institutes (Government as well as Private), Government R & D labs, actual network carrying live traffic etc.

G. Kishan Reddy Inaugurates Coal India Pavilion in IITF

  • Union Minister of Coal & Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, inaugurated the Coal India Limited (CIL) pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, being held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal and Chairman, CIL, Sanoj Kumar Jha, Joint Secretary Ministry of Coal Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Lakhpat Singh Choudhary and other senior officers of the Ministry of Coal and CIL were present on the occasion.
  • The CIL pavilion highlights India's progress in energy security, diversification projects and sustainable practices drawing attention from visitors. The pavilion showcases Opencast Mining method, Use of Artificial Intelligence in Coal Mining, functioning of Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at Headquarters of CIL Subsidiaries.

The 12th Samvad Conclave Kicks Off in Jamshedpur

  • The Steel City of Jamshedpur is hosting the 12th of edition of Samvad conclave. The five-day event is being held at Gopal Maidan from November 15 to 19, 2025.
  • Coinciding with two historic milestones, the 25th Statehood Day and the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, the revered tribal icon, Samvaad 2025 brings together 2,500 participants representing 153 tribes from 26 states and Union Territories, aiming to cover nearly 50% of India's tribal representation at a single forum.

The Government Notifies Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025

  • The Government of India notified the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025. This marks the full operationalisation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Together, the Act and the Rules form a clear and citizen-centred framework for the responsible use of digital personal data. They place equal weight on individual rights and lawful data processing.
  • The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invited public comments on the draft Rules before finalising them. Consultations were held in Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. A wide range of participants took part in these discussions. Start-ups, MSMEs, industry bodies, civil society groups and government departments all offered detailed suggestions. Citizens also shared their views. In total, 6,915 inputs were received during the consultation process. These contributions played a key role in shaping the final Rules.
  • With the notification of the Rules, India now has a practical and innovation-friendly system for data protection. It supports ease of understanding, encourages compliance and strengthens trust in the country's growing digital ecosystem.
