India to Hold Tri-service Exercise 'Poorvi Prachand Prahar' in Arunachal's Mechuka

  • A tri-service exercise to integrate war fighting capability, technological adaptation and operational synergy among the three wings of the armed forces will be held in the rugged mountains of Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh this month (November 2025).
  • 'Poorvi Prachand Prahar' exercise, conceived as a forward-looking exercise, will validate multi-domain integration across land, air and maritime fronts, reflecting the Indian Armed Forces' evolving readiness for future conflicts.

IIT-Gandhinagar & Indian Army Sign MOU for Defence-tech Innovation

  • The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT-GN) and the Indian Army, through its Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (EME) School in Vadodara, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on armament technology and academia with a view to solving problems for the armed forces and conduct a student exchange for educational enhancement.
  • The MoU was signed by Major General Mohit Gandhi, Commandant of the EME School, and Dr. Rajat Moona, Director of IIT-GN, making it the second such agreement to be signed between the Indian Army and IIT-Gn within a decade.

India and Israel Sign MoU to Expand Scope of Bilateral Defence Ties

  • India and Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand the scope of bilateral defence ties between the two nations. The MoU was exchanged at the 17th meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on defence cooperation between India and Israel was held in Tel Aviv.
  • The meeting was co-chaired by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defence Major General Amir Baram. During the meeting, the agreement will provide a unified vision and policy direction to deepen the already strong defence cooperation between the two countries. This will enable the sharing of advanced tech and promote co-development and co-production.

Russia Launches Khabarovsk Submarine, Carrier for Poseidon Drone

  • Russia launched its newest nuclear submarine 'Khabarovsk' designed to carry the underwater nuclear drone 'Poseidon', also known as 'doomsday missile', capable of intercontinental travel and immense destruction.
  • The Khabarovsk was ceremonially launched at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk by Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, in the presence of Russian Naval Chief Admiral Alexander Moiseyev and other top shipbuilding officials. Belousov called it a significant momment for Russia's navy.

  • Raj Kumar Arora assumed the charge of Financial Advisor of Defence Services in November 2025. The Ministry of Defence said that the 1990-batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) previously served as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA). He also served as Integrated Financial Advisor in various commands and field offices of the Defence Accounts Department. Furthermore, Arora has vast experience in the areas of accounting, audit, budgeting and personnel management.

  • The Aviation Corps of the Indian Army celebrated its 40th Raising Day in November 2025. Director General and Colonel Commandant of the Army Aviation Corps, Lieutenant General Vinod Nambiar extended greetings to officers, junior commissioned officers, veterans and their families on the occasion.
  •  In an exclusive message on All India Radio, Lieutenant General Vinod Nambiar said over the past four decades, Army Aviation has evolved into a powerful and indispensable combat force, defined by professionalism, precision, and courage. He added that the Corps has played a vital role in tactical air support, high-altitude operations, and battlefield mobility, symbolizing agility and innovation within the Indian Army.

Vice Admiral B Sivakumar Assumes Charge as The Chief of Materiel-Indian Navy

  • Vice Admiral B. Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM, assumed the position of the 40th Chief of Materiel on 1 November 2025. He is a distinguished alumnus of the 70th Course at the National Defence Academy and was commissioned as an Electrical Officer in the Indian Navy on July 1, 1987.
  • The Flag Officer holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Chennai, is a postgraduate in Higher Defence Management from Osmania University, MPhil from Madras University and is an alumnus of the National Defence College.
  • During his distinguished and illustrious service of over 38 years, the Flag Officer has held various key appointments in the Naval Headquarters, HQ ATVP, Naval Dockyards and Command Headquarters. He has served onboard frontline warships, Indian Navy ships Ranjit, Kirpan and Akshay, and has commanded the premier Electrical Training Base, INS Valsura.

Rajnath Singh Arrives in Kuala Lumpur for ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived for the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, where he addressed the forum on 'Reflection on 15 years of ADMM-Plus and Charting the Way Forward'.
  • The ADMM serves as the highest defence consultative and cooperative mechanism within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). ADMM-Plus is a platform for ASEAN member states, which includes Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam, and its eight Dialogue Partners--India, the US, China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand--to strengthen security and defence cooperation.
