Padma Bhushan Conferred on Veteran Journalist Ram Bahadur Rai at IGNCA
On June 18, 2025, eminent journalist and cultural intellectual Shri Ram Bahadur Rai was formally presented the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The special presentation took place at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) office in Delhi, as Shri Rai was unable to attend the main ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The award ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries and intellectuals who paid heartfelt tributes to his lifelong contributions to journalism, public discourse, and cultural thought.
Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, a towering figure in Indian journalism and the President of IGNCA Trust, has been awarded the Padma Bhushan for his distinguished service in literature and education (journalism).

Indian�'Origin Professor Wins Godel Prize for Groundbreaking Computer Science Work
A researcher of Indian origin, Eshan Chattopadhyay, who is an associate professor at Cornell University, was awarded the 2025 Godel Prize, one of the most prestigious prizes in theoretical computer science. He was jointly honoured with David Zuckerman, a professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
The Gdel Prize is awarded annually by ACM SIGACT and EATCS, alternating between ICALP and STOC conferences.

PM Modi Conferred Cyprus' Highest Civilian Honour
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the 'Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III', the highest civilian honour of the Republic of Cyprus. The award was presented by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides during the Prime Minister's official visit to the country.
Instituted in 1981 by then President Spyros Kyprianou, the Decoration of the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III is one of the most prestigious awards conferred by the Cypriot state.

Alexander Payne to Receive Honorary Leopard Award at Locarno 2025
Acclaimed filmmaker Alexander Payne will be honoured with the Honorary Leopard Award at the 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival.
Payne will receive the award, officially called 'Pardo d'Onore', in August at the film gala held annually in Locarno, Switzerland.
