L&T Finance Ltd. Wins 'Best Digital Experience in Finance' Award at the Global Fintech Fest 2025

  • L&T Finance Ltd. (LTF), formerly known as L&T Finance Holdings Limited, was conferred with the 'Best Digital Experience in Finance' Award at the fourth edition of the Global Fintech Awards held at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025. GFF is the world's largest fintech festival, jointly organised by the Payments Council of India (PCI), the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC).
  • LTF was recognised for its exemplary efforts in redefining customer engagement and setting new benchmarks in digital financial experiences through the PLANET App.

Masako Nozawa Becomes First Voice Actor Honoured by Japan

  • In a landmark moment for the anime and entertainment industry, Masako Nozawa, the legendary voice behind Son Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise, was selected as one of the 2025 Persons of Cultural Merit honourees in Japan. This makes her the first voice actor ever to receive this prestigious cultural award, marking a turning point in the recognition of voice acting as an integral part of Japanese culture.
  • The award ceremony will take place on November 3, 2025, at The Okura Tokyo hotel, where Nozawa will be honored alongside other prominent cultural figures including manga creator Keiko Takemiya, actor Min Tanaka, and playwright Hideki Noda.

  • Sam Fender won the Mercury Prize for his third album "People Watching", beating the likes of band Pulp and singer FKA Twigs for the British music award.

Kaziranga Director Sonali Ghosh Wins Global Sustainability Award

  • Sonali Ghosh, field director at Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, became the first Indian to win the prestigious World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA)–Kenton Miller Award for innovation in national parks and protected area sustainability. The honour was conferred at the IUCN World Conservation Congress held in Abu Dhabi.
  • The award is named after Dr Kenton R Miller, former director general of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Besides Ghosh, 14 conservation leaders were also recognised.

  • The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 celebrated the best of Hindi cinema at a glittering event held at EKA Arena, Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad. The grand evening was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, along with Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul.

  • Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics for having explained innovation-driven economic growth.
  • The prestigious award, formally known as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, is the final prize to be given out this year (2025) and is worth 11 million Swedish crowns ($1.2 million).
  • The economics prize was given out first in 1969 when it was won by Norway's Ragnar Frisch and Jan Tinbergen from the Netherlands for work in dynamic economic modelling.

  • Forest rangers, often the first and last line of defence for global biodiversity, were honoured at the 2025 International Ranger Awards in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, recognising their unmatched courage and unwavering service to wildlife protection and forest conservation. The awards, presented by the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), highlighted the often-overlooked sacrifices rangers make in safeguarding the world's most fragile ecosystems.
