India Signs $2 Million Project Agreement with International Solar Alliance
The Ministry of External Affairs signed a Project Implementation Agreement with the International Solar Alliance to operationalise a solar project worth USD 2 million in Fiji, Comros, Madagascar, and the Seychelles.
This development came after India committed to invest USD 2 million in new solar projects in these Indo-Pacific countries under Quad Climate Working Group initiative.
Amara Raja Infra Sets Up India's First Green Hydrogen Fueling Station in Leh
Amara Raja Infra, part of the $2 billion Amara Raja Group, has completed the setup of India's first green hydrogen fueling station in Leh, Ladakh, for NTPC Ltd. This innovative project will enable emission-free transport in the region, marking a significant milestone in India's efforts to embrace green mobility.
The station, designed to produce 80 kg of green hydrogen daily, supports NTPC's green mobility initiatives under the National Hydrogen Energy Mission. Inaugurated by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal, it will also aid in the operation of five hydrogen fuel cell buses in the region. The project is poised to play a key role in the development of hydrogen infrastructure across India.
Punjab National Bank (PNB), India's second-largest public sector bank, became a signatory of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), marking a major step in its climate action journey. This decision aligns with global standards for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting and the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) draft framework on climate-related financial risk disclosures, showcasing PNB's dedication to sustainability and climate transparency.
PNB's association with PCAF reflects its commitment to adopting global best practices in sustainability. This initiative strengthens its role as a responsible financial institution, contributing significantly to climate action and aligning with evolving global and domestic environmental standards.
