Justice N. S. Sanjay Gowda Sworn in as Gujarat High Court Judge
Justice Neranahalli Srinivasan Sanjay Gowda officially taken charge as a judge of the Gujarat High Court. Earlier serving in the Karnataka High Court, his transfer is part of the Supreme Court's plan to bring diversity and better administration across Indian High Courts.
The oath of office to Justice Gowda was administered by Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Justice Sunita Agrawal. The event was attended by Advocate General Kamal Trivedi, senior lawyers and other important guests.

The Kerala High Court constituted a committee to suggest comprehensive guidelines to improve the relationship between lawyers and police officers in the State.
The committee set up by the Bench of Justices A. K. Jayasankarana Nambiar and PM Manoj comprises Kerala Advocate General K. Gopalakrishna Kurup, Director General of Prosecution T. A. Shaji, Senior Advocates Santhosh Mathew and S. Sreekumar and President of Kerala High Court Advocates' Association Yeshwanth Shenoy.

D. Y. Chandrachud Takes Key Role in German Energy firm vs Russia Dispute
In a significant development in the ongoing arbitration between German energy company Wintershall and Russia, former Chief Justice of India D. Y. Chandrachud was designated as the appointing authority under the Energy Charter Treaty, a multilateral pact that works under a framework for cooperation in the energy sector.
D. Y. Chandrachud, who demitted office as the Chief Justice in November 2024, is widely regarded for his contributions to constitutional law and international philosophy of law. His appointment signals the continued involvement of eminent jurists from diverse legal traditions in resolving high-stakes international investment disputes.
The development came following the resignation of Eduardo Siqueiros as the appointing authority on May 22, 2025.
The designation of the appointing authority comes under the rules of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), which frequently provides administrative support in disputes between investors and states under the Energy Charter Treaty framework.

Uttar Pradesh Appoints 12 Lawyers as Additional Advocates General
Twelve advocates including two seniors and one woman were appointed as Additional Advocates General (AAGs) to represent the State of Uttar Pradesh in cases before the Allahabad High Court.

Vikas Singh elected President of SCBA for the fourth time
Senior Advocate Vikas Singh on Tuesday emerged victorious in the elections to the post of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
This is Singh's fourth tenure as SCBA President.
Singh, a former Additional Solicitor General, had previously served as the president of the apex bar body in 2018, 2021 and 2022-23.
Singh defeated nearest rivals Senior Advocates Adish C Aggarwala and Pradeep Kumar Rai.
