BSL Inks Pact with DRDO for Manufacturing Military Grade Steel

  • The management of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) inked a licensing agreement for transfer of technology (LAToT) with a research laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for manufacturing steel sheets to be used in the Indian Navy, the Army and other government agencies.
  • BSL management inked the LAToT with Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL). The agreement grants BSL a non-exclusive license to utilise the technology for manufacture of DMR 249A steel sheets. Priya Ranjan, executive director (works), said that the move will take the PSU a step further in fulfilling the need of India's defence sector.

Defence Secretary Leads NCC's 78th Raising Day Commemoration

  • The National Cadet Corps (NCC) celebrated its 78th Raising Day on November 23, 2025, with commemorative events planned across the country. As a prelude to the celebrations, a solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the National War Memorial, New Delhi where Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Director General NCC Lt Gen Virendra Vats laid a wreath & paid homage to the fallen heroes on behalf of the entire organisation.
  • From its establishment in 1948 with just 20,000 cadets, the NCC has grown into the world's largest uniformed youth organisation with 20 lakh cadets, including an increase of 6 lakh cadets between 2014 and 2025. Today, its footprint extends to 713 out of India's 780 districts, making it one of the most widely represented youth institutions in the country.

  • The Indo-Tibetan Border Police's (ITBP) 27th battalion clinched the best anti-naxal battalion honour for delivering outstanding operational results and leading impactful community initiatives in Chhattisgarh.
  • ITBP Director General Praveen Kumar honoured the prestigious award to the battalion's Commandant Vivek Kumar Pandey and B. P. Badaya during the force's Raising Day Director General's Parade held in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Eighth Edition of the India-UK Joint Military Exercise 'AJEYA WARRIOR-25'

  • The India–UK Joint Military Training Exercise 'AJEYA WARRIOR�'25' officially began on November 17, 2025 at the Foreign Training Node, Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Rajasthan. This is the eighth edition of the prestigious bilateral defence engagement held biennially since 2011, strengthening the long-standing partnership between the Indian Army and the British Army. Scheduled from November 17 to 30, 2025, the exercise brings together 240 military personnel, with equal representation from both nations. The Indian Army team is led by troops of the Sikh Regiment, known for their professionalism, discipline, and operational experience.
  • AJEYA WARRIOR�'25 is conducted under a United Nations mandate, with a primary focus on counter�'terrorism operations in a semi�'urban environment. This theme reflects current global security challenges and the need for international collaboration in tackling terrorism.

Indian Army & IAF to Induct 16 Indigenous Laser-Based Drone Defence Systems

  • In a boost to India's aerial security and counter-drone warfare capabilities, the Indian Army and Indian Air Force are set to induct 16 home-grown Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction Systems (IDDS). These laser-based defence systems, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), are capable of neutralising enemy drones at a distance of 2 kilometres. The new induction comes at a time when hostile drone activity, including incursions along the border and swarming tactics, pose a growing threat to military and civilian infrastructure.
  • According to defence officials, the Mark 2 version of DRDO's IDDS will use a 10-kilowatt laser beam, enabling twice the engagement range compared to its predecessor, which had a 1-km targeting capability. This laser will be capable of disabling surveillance sensors and damaging drone structures, offering non-kinetic precision defence

India Showcases Defence Strength at Dubai Air Show 2025

  • Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) Sanjay Seth led an Indian delegation to the Dubai Air Show 2025, from November 17 to 18, 2025, in the United Arab Emirates. The delegation included senior officers from the Department of Defence, Department of Defence Production, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Armed Forces.
  • Sanjay Seth inaugurated the India Pavilion set up at the Dubai Air Show. The Pavilion featured stalls from HAL, DRDO, Corel Technologies, Dantal Hydraulics, Image Synergy Ekxplor, SFO Technologies etc.
  • Apart from the Pavilion, 19 Indian industries including Bharat Forge, BrahMos, Tech Mahindra, and HBL Engineering showcased their capabilities independently. In addition, 15 Indian start-ups exhibited their products and solutions. The Indian Air Force participated in the Air Show with the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and LCA Tejas.
  • Dubai Air Show is a biennial event that hosts more than 1,500 exhibitors and over 148,000 industry professionals from 150 countries, including major international aerospace companies such as Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Thales, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Calidus.

7th Meeting of NSAs of Colombo Security Conclave held in New Delhi

  • The 7th Meeting of the National Security Advisers (NSAs) of the Colombo Security Conclave 2025 held in New Delhi. NSA Ajit Doval hosted his counterparts from Member States, including the Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Seychelles participated as an Observer State, and Malaysia invited as a Guest.
  • The Colombo Security Conclave was formed to promote closer cooperation between Member States on vital matters of security and to strengthen partnership for enhancing regional security in the Indian Ocean region. In keeping with this vision and objective, the 7th Meeting of the NSAs provided an opportunity for the participants to review the activities under the different pillars of cooperation.
  • These pillars include Maritime Safety and Security, Countering Terrorism and Radicalisation, Combating Transnational Organised Crime, Cyber Security and Protection of Critical Infrastructure and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, and discuss the Roadmap and Action Plan for 2026.

Goa police first in India with 100% cyber fraud response

  • Goa police became the first state police force in India to achieve a 100% response rate in cyber fraud calls. Its cyber fraud call centre received over 5,000 calls, and 581 complaints were registered. They also successfully responded to around 1,500 missed calls, thereby ensuring 100% accessibility, said cyber crime SP Rahul Gupta.
  • Nowhere in India is there a 100% response rate. Also, each call is being recorded and reviewed for quality assurance on the model of private corporates.
