The Minister lauded the initiative as a major step towards enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing government litigation.
The event was attended by senior officials, including Anju Rathi Rana, Union Law Secretary, along with dignitaries from various Ministries and Departments.
The "Live Cases" Dashboard offers real-time data visualization of court cases, enabling Ministries and Departments to track upcoming hearings and coordinate responses more effectively. This technological intervention aims to streamline legal processes and support proactive decision-making.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) celebrated its 32^nd foundation day with a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi in October 2025, where former President Ram Nath Kovind attended as the chief guest and delivered the inaugural address. Established on October 12, 1993, the NHRC has played a pivotal role in promoting human rights, driving policy reforms, and strengthening transparent governance. Over the past 32 years, the Commission has handled more than 23.79 lakh cases, including 2,981 taken up suo motu, and recommended monetary relief exceeding Rs. 263 crore in nearly 8,924 cases of human rights violations.
In the past year alone, from October 2024 to September 2025, the Commission registered 73,849 complaints and initiated 108 suo motu cases, underscoring its continued vigilance in protecting citizens' rights.

Govt Extends 16th Finance Commission Tenure Till Nov 30

The Government of India extended the tenure of the 16^th Finance Commission by one month, shifting the deadline for its report submission from October 31 to November 30, 2025. The Commission, chaired by Arvind Panagariya, is tasked with recommending the distribution of tax revenues between the Centre and states for the 2026–2031 period, as well as reviewing fiscal arrangements for disaster management financing.

India Elected Unopposed to UN Human Rights Council for 2026-28 Term

India elected unopposed to the Human Rights Council for the seventh time for a three-year term (2026-28) starting next year. After India's election by the General Assembly was announced in October 2025, Permanent Representative P Harish said that this election reflects India's unwavering commitment to human rights and fundamental freedoms. In a social media post, Harish said that India looks forward to serving this objective during his tenure. He also thanked all the delegations for their overwhelming support.
The Human Rights Council is the main UN body with 47 members. It promotes and protects human rights around the world, reviews the situation in member countries, and provides a forum to discuss issues. The Council was formed by the General Assembly in 2006, when India was elected to its first term.

International Purple Fest

During the International Purple Fest Goa 2025, three transformative initiatives were unveiled to strengthen accessibility in listening, reading, and writing for persons with disabilities, marking a step forward in inclusive education and skill development.
The International Purple Fest Goa 2025, held from October 9 to 12, was a landmark global event promoting inclusion and accessibility. It was hosted by the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and United Nations India. The Fest centred on cultivating inclusive thinking as the foundation for universal design.

Assam CM Launches "CM Flight" for Global Careers
