Uttar Pradesh Appoints 12 Lawyers as Additional Advocates General

  • Twelve advocates including two seniors and one woman were appointed as Additional Advocates General (AAGs) to represent the State of Uttar Pradesh in cases before the Allahabad High Court.
  • The advocates (from both High Court Benches at Allahabad and Lucknow) who were appointed are: Senior Advocate Amit Saxena, Senior Advocate Anoop Trivedi, Advocate Durg Vijay Singh, Advocate Mahendra Narayan Singh, Advocate Rahul Agarwal, Advocate Sanjeev Singh, Advocate Kartikey Saran, Advocate Anuj Kudesia, Advocate Sudeep Kumar, Advocate Pritish Kumar, Advocate Jyotsna Pal and Advocate Surya Mani Singh Royekvar.

Vikas Singh elected President of SCBA for the fourth time

  • Senior Advocate Vikas Singh on Tuesday emerged victorious in the elections to the post of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
  • This is Singh's fourth tenure as SCBA President.
  • Singh, a former Additional Solicitor General, had previously served as the president of the apex bar body in 2018, 2021 and 2022-23.

Supreme Court Mandates Three Years of Legal Practice for Judicial Service Aspirants

Supreme Court Grants Full Pension to All High Court Judges in Landmark Ruling

  • In a judgment, the Supreme Court of India ruled that all High Court judges, including additional judges, are entitled to full pension and retirement benefits, irrespective of their appointment timing or designation. Supreme Court Directs Urgent Establishment of Exclusive POCSO Courts across India

  • In a significant move aimed at ensuring swift justice for child sexual abuse victims, the Supreme Court of India directed the Central Government to urgently establish exclusive courts for cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
