Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren transfered Rs. 5,000 to the accounts of over 56 lakh women beneficiaries under the Maiyyaan Samman Yojana in January 2025. This amount covered two months' instalments of Rs. 2,500 each for December and January.
The scheme, launched in August 2023, originally provided Rs. 1,000 per month to women aged 18-50. However, the state government increased the monthly assistance to Rs. 2,500 starting from December 2023.

Nitin Gadkari Unveils 'Cashless Treatment' Scheme for Road Accident Victims
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the launch of the "Cashless Treatment" scheme to provide financial aid to road accident victims. Under the scheme, the government will cover treatment costs of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for seven days, provided the police are informed about the accident within 24 hours.
The Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme was launched by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar. This initiative aims to reduce the dropout rate among Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in Odisha. The scheme provides a one-time incentive of Rs. 5,000 for ST students enrolling in Class IX and Class XI. It is designed to encourage higher enrolment and completion rates for secondary and higher secondary education. The financial support is exclusively available for ST students with an annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2,50,000.

Congress Launches Pyari Didi Yojana
Ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, the Congress made a big announcement for women with the launch of Pyari Didi Yojana, promising monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500 to women if voted to power in Delhi.
The scheme will be implemented following the model adopted by the Congress government in Karnataka.
This scheme is aimed at financially empowering women and will be implemented during the first Cabinet meeting of the new government.

Telangana Farmers to Receive Rs. 12,000 per Acre Annually under Rythu Bharosa Scheme
Farmers in Telangana will receive Rs. 12,000 per acre annually under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, an increase from the current Rs. 10,000, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said. Further, families of landless farm labourers will receive a similar amount annually under the newly introduced Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa scheme. These schemes will be implemented starting January 26.

Cabinet Approves Seven Major Schemes to Enhance Farmers' Lives and Livelihoods
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved seven significant schemes aimed at improving farmers' lives and increasing their incomes, with a total financial outlay of Rs. 13,966 crore.
Following are the schemes approved:
1. Digital Agriculture Mission (Rs. 2,817 crore). This mission seeks to leverage technology to enhance farmers' lives by establishing a robust Digital Public Infrastructure.
2. Crop Science for Food and Nutritional Security (Rs. 3,979 crore)
This initiative focuses on preparing farmers for climate resilience and ensuring food security by 2047.
3. Strengthening Agricultural Education, Management, and Social Sciences (Rs. 2,291 crore)
This measure aims to prepare agriculture students and researchers for current challenges.
4. Sustainable Livestock Health and Production (Rs. 1,702 crore)
This decision aims to increase farmers' income from livestock and dairy.
5. Sustainable Development of Horticulture (Rs. 860 crore)
This measure is aimed at increasing farmers' income from horticulture plants.
6. Strengthening of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Rs. 1,202 crore)
This initiative focuses on enhancing the capacity of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (agricultural extension centers) to disseminate knowledge and best practices to farmers, thereby improving productivity and income.
7. Natural Resource Management (Rs. 1,115 crore)
This scheme focuses on the sustainable management of natural resources, essential for ensuring the long-term viability of agricultural practices while also protecting the environment.
