CAG Inaugurates India's first 'Chadwick House: Navigating Audit Heritage' Museum in Shimla

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India inaugurated the 'Chadwick House: Navigating Audit Heritage' Museum in Shimla, a significant milestone in the preservation and celebration of the institution's rich heritage and contributions to the nation's governance.
The museum features cutting-edge interactive displays, diorama sets, including digital archives, audio-visual presentations, and interactive kiosks. It has 10 galleries, each highlighting a different aspect of the institution's history and contributions.

Srinagar Gets Tag of 'World Craft City'

Srinagar became the fourth Indian city to be recognised as a 'World Craft City' by the World Craft Council (WCC), three years after it was designated as part of the UNESCO Creative City Network (UCCN) for crafts and folk arts.
This prestigious honour celebrates the rich heritage, craftsmanship and vibrant culture of Srinagar.
Jaipur, Malappuram and Mysore are the other Indian cities that have previously been recognised as World Craft Cities.
In April this year (2024), a three-member independent panel of craft specialists of the World Craft Council visited Srinagar.
The J&K administration had applied for the recognition of Srinagar as World Craft City in 2021 together with recognition as UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Vishnu Sculpture Found during Excavation in Maharashtra

An intricate and detailed 'Sheshshayi Vishnu' sculpture has been found during excavation work carried out by the ASI in Sindkhed Raja town in Maharashtra's Buldhana district.
It was found at a depth of 2.25 metres when a team of experts, during the conservation work of Lakhuji Jadhavrao's Chhatri, spotted some stone alignments and then reached a temple base on further digging.
The detailed and meticulously carved panel showing Dashavatara, Samudramanthana and Lord Vishnu reclining is the peculiarity of this sculpture.

The National School of Drama Organizing "Rang Amlan" 10 Days Demonstration Oriented Children Thea...

The National School of Drama (NSD) in collaboration with Delhi Tourism and Development Corporation Ltd is conducting 'Rang Amlan' 10 Days Demonstration oriented Children Theatre Workshop from June 22 to July 2, 2024 at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti.
Addressing a press conference virtually Director of National School of Drama Chittaranjan Tripathy said, "the workshop aims at growth of body and mind of the children through the method of theatre. It will not only help them to grow physically and emotionally but also integrate them with neighborhood and society in a more meaningful manner." Around 150 children were selected out of 250 applications on the basis of interaction.

Hemis Festival 2024: Celebrating Buddhist Culture in Ladakh

The Hemis Festival, a vibrant celebration of Tibetan Buddhism, takes place annually in Ladakh, India. In 2024, this important cultural event was held in June 2024.
The Hemis Festival, also known as Hemis Tsechu, commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism. This two-day celebration brought the Hemis Monastery, Ladakh's largest Buddhist monastery, to life with colour, music, and spiritual energy.
The festival's highlight was the Chaam dance, performed by monks wearing colorful masks representing Guru Padmasambhava's eight avatars. This sacred dance symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.
