Music Composer Pyarelal Sharma Honoured with Lakshminarayana International Award

Pyarelal Sharma, one of the distinguished composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal, was honoured with the Lakshminarayana International Award. This accolade was bestowed upon the composer of 'My Name is Lakhan' during the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival, with musicians L. Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam presenting the award.
With a career spanning over eight decades, Pyarelal stands as one of the most successful music composers in Hindi cinema. Collaborating with music maestro Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar, the duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal created timeless songs in movies like 'Dosti,' 'Hum Sab Ustad Hain,' 'Aaye Din Bahar Ke,' 'Mere Hamdam Mere Dost,' 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh,' 'Bobby,' 'Roti,' 'Kapda Aur Makaan,' 'Amar Akbar Anthony,' 'Aasha,' 'Prem Rog,' 'Meri Jung,' 'Ram Lakhan,' among many others.

Bharat Ratna for Narasimha Rao, Charan Singh and M. S. Swaminathan

Bharat Ratna was announced for former PMs Charan Singh, P. V. Narasimha Rao and renowned agricultural scientist M. S. Swaminathan.
The Prime Minister said that Narasimha Rao's visionary leadership was instrumental in making India economically advanced, laid solid foundation for its prosperity, growth, adding that Swaminathan played a pivotal role in helping India achieve self-reliance in agriculture, made outstanding efforts in.

Godfathers of wind Share Engineering's QEPrize

Two men who made critical contributions to the development of wind power will share the £500,000 Queen Elizabeth Prize, nicknamed the 'Nobel of Engineering'.
Denmark's Henrik Stiesdal framed the early design principles for wind turbines and led the installation of the world's first offshore wind farm.
The UK's Andrew Garrad developed the computer models that optimise and certify turbine and farm designs.
The 2024 Queen Elizabeth Prize for engineering laureates were announced at a ceremony in London's Science Museum in the presence of the Princess Royal.

IIT Kanpur Bags 'STEM Impact Award' for Impactful Technology Transfer Activities

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, renowned for its pioneering technology innovations, was honoured with the prestigious STEM Impact Awards 2024 for engaging in impactful technology transfer activities, during the annual STEM Summit - 2024, held in Bengaluru.
STEM (Society for Technology Management) is a non-profit organisation providing a facilitative environment for Technology Transfer Processes and professional development of technology management professionals in Life Sciences, Material Sciences, IT, Engineering, Law, and others.
IIT Kanpur was bestowed this award for the third consecutive time, in recognition of the socio-economic impact created by the technology transfer of the invention of a 'Haptic Smartwatch for the Blind and Visually Impaired'.
On behalf of IIT Kanpur, Professor Ankush Sharma, Professor In-charge, Start-up Incubation and Innovation Centre, IIT Kanpur; and Professor Siddhartha Panda, Department of Chemical Engineering, and Coordinator of the National Centre of Flexible Electronics, (NCFlexE), IIT Kanpur jointly received the award from Alwin Wong, Chairman, Association of Technology Transfer Professional.

REC Secures Best Green Bond - Corporate Award at the Asset Triple A Awards 2024

REC Limited, a Maharatna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, was bestowed with the prestigious Best Green Bond - Corporate Award at The Asset Triple A Awards for Sustainable Finance 2024.
