IIT Guwahati Unveils K12 AI Curriculum under Project Vidhya

  • IIT Guwahati, in collaboration with edtech platform Get Set Learn (GSL), launched a new artificial intelligence learning programme for school students from Grades 6 to 12. Titled 'The Artificial Intelligence Quotient' (AIQ), the initiative is part of IIT Guwahati's broader Project Vidhya and aims to introduce AI, robotics, and IoT into mainstream school education across India.
  • This programme is part of IIT Guwahati's larger initiative called Project Vidhya, which aims to bring advanced digital skills into classrooms across India.

IIM-Udaipur Launches New Executive Program in Product Management

  • The Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM Udaipur) announced the launch of a new Executive Program in Product Management (EPPM) and the commencement of admissions for the next cohort of its Senior Management Program (SMP). Both programmes are designed for working professionals and are offered in an executive education format.
  • Both the Executive Program in Product Management and the Senior Management Program are delivered through a combination of live online sessions and campus modules. This hybrid model is intended to provide flexibility to working professionals while maintaining in-person engagement. IIM Udaipur has partnered with TeamLease EdTech to support the delivery of the programmes and to provide technical and learner support throughout the duration of the courses.

IIT-Jammu Signs a Tripartite MoU to Drive Regional Innovation

  • The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jammu, formalised a collaboration by signing a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) and three pioneering start-ups to accelerate translational research, foster technology-driven entrepreneurship and bolster regional economic development.
  • The MoU was inked by IIT Jammu Director Manoj Singh Gaur and CSIR-IIIM Jammu Director Jammu Zabeer Ahmed in the presence of senior scientists, faculty and officials from both institutions.
  • The representatives of the three start-ups — Songbaran Chatterjee (Biogreen Projects), Manigandan Kumarappan (Evlogia Eco Care) and Mahadeva Swamy (Crop Domain) — also participated in the ceremony, marking their induction into this collaborative framework.

Twenty-four State Boards Seek NCVET Recognition

  • Twenty-four school boards are in the process of getting recognition as dual category awarding bodies — a status that will authorise them to conduct both training and assessment for vocational courses offered to students — in a major push to integrate vocational education with the formal schooling system in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
  • While eight state and Union Territory (UT) school boards have submitted their online application forms for the recognition, 16 have initiated the process by registering on the portal of National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET).

IIM Mumbai Inks Pact with CIL for Specialised Executive Post Graduate Program

  • The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) inked an agreement with Coal India Limited (CIL) for the second edition of its specialised Executive Post Graduate Program (PGPEx) for Logistics and Operations Excellence through Digitisation.
  • Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), IIM Mumbai will provide CIL executives important skills in logistics, supply chain management and digital transformation.
  • The program will focus on building future-ready capabilities in logistics, supply chain management, and digital transformation, aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening strategic leadership across the organisation.

Punjab Launches India's First Evidence-based Anti-drug Curriculum

  • Punjab took a fresh and focused approach to the drug problem. From August 1, the state rolled out India's first-ever evidence-based anti-drug curriculum in government schools.
  • The move is part of the third phase of the 'Yudh Nashian De Virudh' (War Against Drugs) campaign and was launched by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Arniwala, Fazilka.
  • The curriculum is designed for students of Classes 9 to 12 across 3,658 schools, covering nearly 8 lakh students. Over 6,500 trained teachers are ready to deliver the 27-week programme.
  • The programme has been developed with help from Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee's J-PAL South Asia and top behavioural scientists. Their focus is to teach kids how to make smart, informed decisions before it's too late.
