World Liver Day

World Liver Day is observed on April 19 every year to raise awareness about liver-related diseases and why we should prioritise its health. This day aims to spread information about liver diseases, prevention, early diagnosis and treatment.
The first ever world Liver Day was launched by the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) in 2010. It is celebrated annually on April 19, to commemorate the founding of EASL on April 19, 1966.
The theme of World Liver Day 2024 is 'Be Vigilant, Get Regular Liver Check-Ups and Prevent Fatty Liver Diseases.'

National Exercise Day

National Exercise Day is observed on April 18 every year. This day is dedicated to encouraging everyone to participate in physical activity and exercise. It is a day to start a new habit and build a strong foundation for lifelong health.
The roots of exercise stretch far back to ancient Greece, where yoga emerged as one of the earliest organised forms of physical activity, emphasising both mental and spiritual well-being. Over time, yoga diversified into practices like Hatha yoga, prioritising physical health. Similarly, in the early Middle Ages, Germanic tribes in Northern Europe utilised exercise as a survival tool.

World Heritage Day

World Heritage Day, also known as International Day for Monuments and Sites (IDMS), is celebrated annually on April 18 to honour and preserve our heritage.
The day was first established in 1982 by the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and was later adopted by UNESCO during its 22nd General Conference.
The theme for World Heritage Day 2024 is 'Discover and Experience Diversity.'

World Hemophilia Day

World Hemophilia Day is celebrated every year on April 17 to educate people about rare bleeding disorders and support those who live with this condition.
The foundation of the day was laid in 1989 by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). April 17 was decided as the date to observe the health day every year to honour the founder of the organisation Frank Schnabel, who played a significant role in advocating for hemophilia awareness and treatment and dedicated his life towards improving lives of those suffering from the disorder.
The theme for World Hemophilia Day is 'Equitable access for all: recognising all bleeding disorders'.

International Turban Day 2024, Celebrating Sikh Heritage and Values

The choice of April 13^th as International Turban Day holds deep significance for the Sikh community. This date coincides with the celebration of Baisakhi, a major Sikh festival that marks the birth of the Khalsa Panth. On this day in 1699, the tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh, established the Khalsa Panth at Anandpur Sahib, a pivotal moment in Sikh history.

World Quantum Day

World Quantum Day is an international, community-driven event on April 14 to spark interest and generate enthusiasm for quantum mechanics.
Quantum mechanics, the study of atoms and sub-atomic particles, has advanced to the point where it is now being applied to develop innovative technologies. Researchers worldwide have utilized the principles of quantum physics to create groundbreaking applications, such as LEDs, lasers, and ultra-precise atomic clocks used in the Global Positioning System. Attention is now focused on controlling and manipulating quantum systems for Quantum Computing, Quantum Communications, and Quantum Sensing applications, ushering in a new era of technological advancements.
World Quantum Day started on April 14, 2021 as an initiative by an international group of scientists.[4] The initiative was joined by engineers, educators, science communicators, organizations and others to celebrate the first World Quantum day on April 14, 2022.
