Every year on June 4 the world observes the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the suffering endured by children globally. This day highlights the physical, mental, and emotional abuse that many children face and honours the efforts of countless individuals and organizations striving to protect and uphold children's rights. Established by the United Nations, the day aims to safeguard the rights of children who have been subjected to violence, sexual abuse, abduction, and trauma.
On August 19, 1982, the UN General Assembly's special session focused on the plight that Palestinian and Lebanese children faced due to Israeli aggression during the Lebanon war. The assembly further pledged to protect the rights of the children in Lebanon. The UN General Assembly announced that every year, on June 4, International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression will be observed.

The resolution was supported by all 193 member states, encouraging the inclusion of bicycles in regional, sub-national and international development programs and policies.

World No Tobacco Day
World No Tobacco Day is observed annually on May 31. It provides an opportune moment for health organisations, governments, and individuals to participate in various activities and campaigns aimed at highlighting the risks associated with tobacco use and encouraging a tobacco-free lifestyle.
Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1987, it was initially called World No Smoking Day. The day aimed to draw global attention to the devastating health effects of tobacco use. In 1988, the focus shifted to an annual celebration promoting awareness not just about the dangers of tobacco, but also the tactics of the tobacco industry.
The first official observance was on April 7, 1988, coinciding with WHO's 40th anniversary. However, in 1989, the observance date was changed to May 31st to provide a more focused and annual commitment to tobacco control.
The theme for World No Tobacco Day 2024 is 'Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference'.
