María Corina Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia Awarded the 2024 Sakharov Prize

The European Parliament named María Corina Machado and President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia as recipients of the 2024 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. The Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought is the highest human rights honour awarded by the European Union. Recipients of this award are recognised for their significant contributions to the fight for freedom of expression and political justice.

Haryana's Aravali Power Bags National Water Award in Industry Segment

Aravali Power Company Private Limited, Jhajjar, Haryana, bagged the first prize in the fifth edition of National Water Awards presented by President Droupadi Murmu in the National Capital.
Among states, Odisha was declared the winner and Uttar Pradesh second, followed by Puducherry and Gujarat sharing the third prize.
Overall there were 38 winners, including joint winners across nine categories.
The awards were presented for their exemplary work in the field of water conservation and management.
