UK PM Keir Starmer Honoured with 'Living Bridge' Award for India-UK FTA

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer awarded the prestigious 'Living Bridge' honour for his instrumental role in fostering deeper India-UK relations and successfully concluding the long-awaited India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The award, presented at a ceremony in the House of Lords in London in September 2025, recognises individuals and organisations who significantly contribute to strengthening bilateral ties.
The award was accepted on Starmer's behalf by Seema Malhotra, Britain's Indian-origin Minister for the Indo-Pacific in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Organised annually by the India Business Group (IBG), the Living Bridge Awards spotlight those who serve as symbolic 'living bridges' between India and the UK, enhancing collaboration in areas like trade, education, culture, and diplomacy.
This year marks the fourth edition of the awards.

BBMP's e-Khata Wins National Award 2025

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's (BBMP) e-Khata initiative was conferred with the National eGovernance Award 2025 at the 28^th National eGovernance Awards held in Visakhapatnam.
Recognised for its transformative impact on digitising property records, enhancing transparency, and improving citizen service delivery, the eKhata project was conceptualised under the leadership of D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru in charge Minister.

Gram Panchayats Win National e-Governance Awards 2025 for Digital Innovation

Marking a historic moment in India's digital governance journey, Gram Panchayats were awarded for the first time under a dedicated category at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2025. The awards were presented during the 28th National Conference on e-Governance held in September 2025 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, by Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the PMO. The ceremony, themed "Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation", celebrated grassroots digital innovation in governance. With over 1.45 lakh entries evaluated in a multi-tier process, the winning Gram Panchayats stand out as beacons of digital transformation, transparency, and citizen-centric governance at the village level.

Gold Award: Rohini Gram Panchayat, Maharashtra
Silver Award: West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat, Tripura
Developed as a Citizen Charter-driven Panchayat.
Jury Award: Palsana Gram Panchayat, Gujarat
Integrated portals like Digital Gujarat and Gram Suvidha.
Jury Award: Suakati Gram Panchayat, Odisha
Uses OdishaOne and Seva Odisha platforms for 24/7 access to essential services.

President Droupadi Murmu Presents 71st National Film Awards in New Delhi

President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi.
The Best Feature Film Award was given to the Hindi Movie '12th Fail', while the Best Hindi Film Award was presented to the Hindi Movie 'Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery'.
National Film Awards in the Best Actor category was conferred to actor Shah Rukh Khan for his film Jawan and actor Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail.
Legendary actor, director, and producer Mohanlal was also conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2023.

Ousmane Dembele, Aitana Bonmati win Ballon d'Or Awards in Paris

Ousmane Dembele was named the world's best player of the season as he claimed the Ballon d'Or on a night of triumph for his Paris St Germain club, while Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati, a serial trophy winner, claimed the women's award on Monday.
The 28-year-old France forward Dembele, who needed time and the guidance of PSG coach Luis Enrique to fulfill his potential as he inspired the capital club to their first Champions League title last season, became the sixth French player to lift the award and the first since Karim Benzema in 2022.
He beat Spain and Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, with his PSG teammate Vitinha taking third place.

Visakhapatnam Police Honoured with SKOCH Award for Accident Victim Support Centre

The Road Traffic Accident Victim Assistance Centre, established under the leadership of Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankha Brata Bagchi, has received the SKOCH Award for outstanding public service.
The award was presented to Visakhapatnam city police officials at the 102^nd SKOCH Awards ceremony in New Delhi in September 2025.

Andhra Pradesh Bags 'Best State Award' for Silk Development

Andhra Pradesh won the Best State Award under the 'Mera Resham - Mera Abhiman' programme initiated by the Central Silk Board, Government of India, for effectively creating awareness and implementing development programmes for silk farmers and reelers.

Mohanlal Honoured with 2023 Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was named the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023, India's highest honour in cinema.
The Government of India announced that the award was presented during the 71^st National Film Awards ceremony.
Recognised for his unmatched versatility and contribution to cinema, Mohanlal joins the illustrious list of actors and filmmakers who have shaped Indian film history.
Mohanlal's career spans more than four decades, beginning with his debut in Thiranottam (1978), a film directed by his longtime collaborator Priyadarshan.
Since then, he has acted in over 400 films, establishing himself as one of the most influential figures in Indian cinema.

Tahira Kashyap registers a global feat as her directorial debut film, 'Sharmajee Ki Beti,' won the Best Asian Feature Film Award (Gold Belt) at the Content Asia Awards 2025.
It soared past 'Where is the Lie?' and 'Hello, Love, Again,' which grabbed honors in silver and bronze belts, respectively.
Winning a top honour in the category of Best Asian Feature Film is certainly a proud moment for Tahira and the Indian film industry.

National Award for TGCAB

The Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank (TGCAB) bagged the first prize at the national level for the best performing State cooperative bank for 2024-25.
This award was presented under the annual performance awards scheme, instituted by the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB), and the presentation ceremony was held in Shimla.
