TVS Motor Announces India's First Racing Tournament for Electric 2-wheelers

  • TVS Motor Company will on September 29 hold India's first electric two-wheeler racing championship, saying the event will be exclusively for its Apache RTE motorcycles.
  • The TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship (e-OMC) will see the debut of Apache RTE. The event will be held at the fourth round of Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship (INMRC). The first round of the championship will have eight selected riders.

Nischal Wins Silver with New National Record at Shooting World Cup in Rio

  • India's Nischal won the silver medal in women's 50m rifle 3 positions at the ISSF World Cup 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
  • Nischal shot 592 and rewrote Anjum Moudgil's previous national record of 591 set at the President's Cup in 2022. She came second behind reigning world champion Miao Wanru of the People's Republic of China, who shot 594 to top qualifiers but came fourth in the final.
  • The podium finish by Nischal on the final day of the ISSF World Cup took India's tally to two medals. Elavenil Valarivan won the gold medal in the women's 10m air rifle event.

Indian Shooter Elavenil Valarivan Wins Gold Medal in ISSF World Cup 2023

  • Indian shooter Elavenil Valarivan won the gold medal in the women's 10 metre air rifle event at the ISSF World Cup 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Olympian Elavenil Valarivan shot 252.2 from her series of 24 shots in the final and narrowly beat France's Oceanne Muller. A total of eight shooters qualified for the final. This was Elavenil Valarivan's second individual ISSF World Cup medal.
  • Earlier, Elavenil Valarivan finished 9th in the qualification round with 630.5. The Rio meet was the last rifle and pistol ISSF World Cup of 2023. The ongoing event in the Brazilian city will be followed by the finals in Doha, Qatar, scheduled from November 18 to 27. India sent a 16-member squad for the ISSF World Cup.
