Manipur Hosts Hathei Chilli Festival to Promote GI-Tagged Local Crop

The 14th Sirarakhong Hathei Chilli Festival inaugurated in September 2025 at Sirarakhong village, Ukhrul district, Manipur, by Thaithuilung Pamei, IAS, Commissioner, Horticulture & Sericulture, Government of Manipur.
The event, a vibrant celebration of the world-renowned Sirarakhong Hathei Chilli, known for its unique aroma and flavour, brought together farmers, community leaders, and dignitaries to promoted agricultural heritage, environmental sustainability, and national development initiatives.

IGNCA Hosts 'Mann ki Baat' Art Exhibition

The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts organised the art exhibition 'Mann ki Baat' in Samvet Auditorium, IGNCA in New Delhi.
Curated by Prof. Richa Kamboj, Head of Department, Kaladarsana Division, the exhibition presented a series of paintings by eminent senior artist Manjit Singh, inspired by the radio programme Mann ki Baat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The exhibition is open to the public from September 17 to 22.

Shilp Samagam Mela:Celebration of Art, Craftand Culture

The much-awaited Shilp Samagam Mela 2025 opened in Bengaluru, bringing to life India's extraordinary heritage of crafts and culture.
Organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with TULIP, the mela held from 5th to 14th September 2025 at Freedom Park, Bengaluru.
This year's edition features 75 stalls of artisans' handicrafts, showcasing exquisite creations ranging from intricate metalwork, wooden artifacts, cane and bamboo products, pottery, textiles, and handwoven treasures of more than 13 states.
The mela reflects India's rich artistic legacy while also serving as a vital marketplace where artisans engage with urban and international audiences.
Shilp Samagam Mela highlights the skills of artisans from diverse communities, including Scheduled Castes (SCs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Safai Mitras.

Onam 2025 Begins in Kerala

Kerala's most celebrated festival, Onam, began on a grand and colourful note in Tripunithura with the traditional Athachamayam procession, a ceremonial curtain-raiser to the state's 10-day harvest festival, which concludes on September 5, 2025. Onam 2025 promises a celebration that blends deep-rooted tradition with dynamic modern flair.
Held in Tripunithura, the former royal seat of the Kochi kingdom, Athachamayam has always been a symbol of Kerala's cultural unity and royal heritage.

Six-Day Indian Cinema Festival Concludes in Sri Lanka

A vibrant celebration of Indian cinema was held in Sri Lanka, the six-day Indian film festival, from August 18 to 23, 2025, was held at the Trincomalee campus of Eastern University. The event was a cultural initiative designed to deepen people-to-people ties and strengthen India-Sri Lanka relations through the universal language of film.
The Indian cinema festival, curated and supported by cultural institutions from both countries, aimed to highlight the rich linguistic, regional, and thematic diversity of Indian cinema. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera, Governor of Sri Lanka's Eastern Province.
