On the eve of Republic Day 2025, President Droupadi Murmu approved gallantry awards for 93 personnel from the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces. These awards recognise their extraordinary bravery and selfless service to the nation. The honours included 2 Kirti Chakras, 14 Shaurya Chakras, 1 Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 66 Sena Medals, 2 Nao Sena Medals, and 8 Vayu Sena Medals. Among these, several awards have been conferred posthumously, reflecting the ultimate sacrifice made by the recipients.
The Kirti Chakra was for Major Manjit and Naik Dilwar Khan ((Posthumously).
Nao Sena Medal was for Lieutenant Commander Sourabh Malik (Navy) and Lieutenant Commander Satyam Singh (Navy).

The Prize Distribution Function of the 25th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2023-24 for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas was held in January, 2025 at GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi.
The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Law and Justice; and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal, presided over the function and distributed the prizes to the winning teams of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for their meritorious performance in the Competition.
Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organising Youth Parliament Competitions in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for the past 28 years. Under the scheme of National Youth Parliament Competition for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, the 25th Competition in the series was organised during 2023-24 among 80 Vidyalayas spread over 8 regions of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, all over India.
In the function, Running Shield and Trophy for standing first at the National Level in the 25th Competition was awarded to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandrapur, Maharashtra (Pune Region) by the Minister. Apart from JNV Chandrapur, Maharashtra, the following 7 regional winning Vidyalayas also received prizes from the Minister.

Renowned mridangist T. V. Gopalakrishnan was selected to receive the R. K. Srikantan Trust Award during the Sankranti Music Fest. This recognition celebrates his exceptional contributions to Indian classical music.
Rudrapatna Krishnasastri Srikantan (1920–2014) was a distinguished Carnatic vocalist known for his purity of rendition and adherence to traditional values. He was awarded the Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 1995 and the Padma Bhushan in 2011.
Established to honour the legacy of R. K. Srikantan, the R. K. Srikantan Trust Award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of Carnatic music. The award is presented during the Sankranti Music Fest, a celebration of classical music held annually.
