Jharkhand Jain Religious Site Won't Be Converted To Tourism Hub
The centre and the Jharkhand government decided that the Jain site of Sammed Shikharji will remain a place of pilgrimage and not be converted into a tourism hub, Sammed Shikharji, located on the Parasnath Hill in Giridih district of Jharkhand, is the biggest pilgrimage centre of the Jain community.
Members of the community have been protesting against the central and state government's move to promote religious tourism at Parasnath Hill.

India Second-largest Market for Singapore Tourism Sector in 2022
India was ranked the second-largest tourist market for Singapore in 2022 behind Indonesia, with 686,000 Indian arrivals, according to data provided by the country's tourism authority.
As per Singapore Tourism Board (STB), tourists from Indonesia, India and Australia were among the top spenders in the first nine months of 2022 with a spending of 8.96 billion Singapore dollars (SGD).
Malaysia with 591,000 tourists was in third place.

At 15th Place, IndiGo among World's 20 most Punctual Airlines
According to a report by aviation analytics firm OAG, the country's largest airline IndiGo and state-owned Coimbatore airport were among the 20 most punctual airlines and airports globally.
When it comes to On-Time Performance (OTP) in 2022, IndiGo was ranked 15th while Coimbatore airport was at the 13th position, as per the report.
IndiGo and the Airports Authority of India (AAI)-owned Coimbatore airport were the only Indian airline and airport, respectively, in the OAG's Punctuality League report.
The list was topped by Garuda Indonesia with an OTP of 95.63 per cent, followed by Safair (95.30 per cent) and Eurowings (95.26 per cent) at the second and third spots, respectively.
Thai AirAsia (92.33 per cent) was at fourth place and Jeju Airlines (91.84 per cent) was in fifth position.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Signs MoUs with Chapters of Eight Countries of GOPIO
Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board signed MoUs with chapters of eight countries of the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) at the MP Tourism Pavilion of Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore at the 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Convention.
These MoUs were signed with France Metropole Paris, Mauritius, Reunion Island, Martinique, Sri Lanka, GOPIO International, Malaysia, and Mauritius.
The MoUs were signed by Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla on behalf of the Tourism Board and presidents of eight countries of GOPIO. Principal Secretary Shukla said that these MoUs were executed with the aim of boosting cooperation in the development of the Tourism sector of the state, and promotion, and publicity of tourist places.

Karnataka's Hampi and Mysuru were enlisted in the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 Scheme, a Central Sector scheme launched in 2014-15 by Ministry of Tourism & Culture to promote, develop & harness potential of tourism & integrated development of theme-based tourist circuits.
Two locations each from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Goa, Gujarat and Kerala were selected for the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 project. Among these, Hampi and Mysore in Karnataka were also selected.
Swadesh Darshan scheme is a new milestone in the tourism development path of the country. There is no shortage of places to visit in India.
