Ministry of Tourism Selected Four Pilgrim Centres under PRASHAD Scheme
The Ministry of Tourism under its schemes of 'Swadesh Darshan' and 'National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)' identified four pilgrim centres for development. They provide financial assistance to State Governments/UT Administrations etc. for the development of tourism infrastructure in the country.
The Ministry of Tourism revamped its Swadesh Darshan scheme as Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) to develop sustainable and responsible tourism destinations. Under SD2.0, the Ministry identified 'Hampi' and 'Mysuru' as destinations for development.
Pilgrim centres identified by Ministry of Tourism in Karnataka were (i) Development of Maa Chamundeshwari Devi Temple, Mysuru, Karnataka, (ii) Sri Madhwa Vana, Kunjarugiri, Udupi District, (iii) Papnash Temple, Bidar District and (iv) Sri Renuka Yallamma Temple, Saudatti, Belagavi District.
The Government of India launched the PRASAD scheme in the year 2014-2015 under the Ministry of Tourism. The full form of the PRASAD scheme is the 'Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive'.

India Jumps to 55th Place in ICAO's Aviation Safety Oversight Ranking: DGCA
India's aviation safety oversight ranking jumped to the 55th position from 112th place earlier, with a significant improvement in the country's score under the ICAO's coordinated validation mission, according to regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Under its Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach, an ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) was undertaken in India from November 9 to 16, 2022.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) undertakes audit of all the contracting states under this programme.
The eight audit areas of a Member State's aviation system that the programme monitors are: Primary Aviation Legislation and Civil Aviation Regulations (LEG), Civil Aviation Organization (ORG), Personnel Licensing and Training (PEL), Aircraft Operations (OPS), Airworthiness of Aircraft (AIR), Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation (AIG), Air Navigation Services (ANS) and Aerodromes and Ground Aids (AGA).

India's IndiGo Seeks Partnerships to Expand International Network
InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, the operator of India's leading airline IndiGo, is seeking partnerships that will allow it to expand its international network.
The airline's international capacity is already at 105% of pre COVID levels and it plans to grow this further in 2023.
IndiGo's code share agreement with Turkish Airlines and Virgin Atlantic has increased connections to Europe, where the Indian carrier is adding capacity to meet growing demand for air travel.

India's First Glass Igloo Restaurant in Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg
A glass igloo restaurant in the middle of the snow-covered mountains in Gulmarg became the centre of attraction for tourists in the hill station in Kashmir.
This unique glass igloo restaurant was developed by Kolahoi Green Heights, a hotel in Gulmarg. The hotel claims it is the first glass igloo restaurant in the valley. It is worth noting that earlier they had built the valley's first snow-covered restaurant.
According to Hotel Manager Hamid Masoudi, it has always taken unique measures to make Gulmarg attractive to tourists.
This concept was taken from Finland.

India Participates in International Tourism Trade Fair FITUR in Madrid
India participated in an international tourism trade fair in Madrid to help expedite the recovery of the country's inbound tourism to the pre-pandemic level.
Feria Internacional del Turismo or FITUR was hosted in Spain from January 18-22.
The Indian delegation led by Verma, the additional secretary in the ministry, participated in key business meetings with senior leadership from Melia Hotels International, Palladium Hotel Group, Expedia Group, World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Cushman & Wakefield, and the Indo-Spanish Chambers of Commerce.
FITUR is the global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound markets in Latin America. FITUR is the second most important tourism fair in the world. Around 10,000 national and international companies take part in each edition and there are more than 50,000 visitors spread over the different days of the event.
