Winners of Avinya'25 and Vasudha Start-up Challenges Announced At "Energize India" Conclave

  • Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, announced the winners of two prestigious start-up challenges, Avinya'25 and Vasudha, at a special ceremony held at ONGC headquarters.
  • The announcement came at the conclusion of "Energize India: Catalyzing Growth Through Start-up Innovation", a high-powered conclave that brought together energy sector veterans, investors, and innovators.
  • The winner of Avinya'25, India's premier energy start-up competition, was UrjanovaC Pvt Ltd. The runners up were Breathe ESG Private Limited, AgriVijay, Apeiro Energy and UGreen Technology.
  • For Vasudha, the global start-up challenge in upstream oil and gas sector, the winner was Latin Energy Partners Inc., Paraguay and the runner up was Ultrasound Process Consulting LLC, USA.

Ex-CJI JS Khehar Awarded Padma Vibhushan

  • President of India approved the conferment of the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian award, to former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar. Senior Advocate C. S. Vaidyanathan was honoured with the Padma Shri.
  • Justice Khehar, a graduate of Panjab University in Chandigarh, began his legal career in 1979 after completing his LL.M. He practiced in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Himachal Pradesh High Court, and the Supreme Court. He was appointed as a judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1999 and later served as the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand and Karnataka High Courts before being elevated to the Supreme Court in 2011.

Gallantry Awards 2025

  • On the eve of Republic Day 2025, President Droupadi Murmu approved gallantry awards for 93 personnel from the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces. These awards recognise their extraordinary bravery and selfless service to the nation. The honours included 2 Kirti Chakras, 14 Shaurya Chakras, 1 Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 66 Sena Medals, 2 Nao Sena Medals, and 8 Vayu Sena Medals. Among these, several awards have been conferred posthumously, reflecting the ultimate sacrifice made by the recipients.
  • The Kirti Chakra was for Major Manjit and Naik Dilwar Khan ((Posthumously).
  • Nao Sena Medal was for Lieutenant Commander Sourabh Malik (Navy) and Lieutenant Commander Satyam Singh (Navy).

Urbasi Sinha Wins Gates-Cambridge Impact Prize 2025

  • Professor Urbasi Sinha from Bengaluru-based Raman Research Institute (RRI) was honoured with the 'Gates-Cambridge Impact Prize 2025' by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at Cambridge, the UK.
