The Indian Army contingent, consisting of 25 skilled personnel from the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces), is in Cijantung, Jakarta, Indonesia and is participating in the 9th edition of the India-Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise, GARUD SHAKTI 24. Taking place from November 1 to November 12, 2024, this exercise is a testament to the strong military cooperation and shared strategic interests between India and Indonesia.
The event, which brings together some of the best military minds from both nations, aims to enhance interoperability, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the two armies. Armenia Becomes India's Leading Defence Export Destination
Armenia emerged as India's leading destination for defence exports. In the fiscal year 2023-24 achieved a record in defence exports, totalling Rs. 21,083 crore (approximately $2.63 billion). This marked a 32.5% increase from the previous year. Saudi Arabia and Iran Conduct Joint Naval Exercises
Saudi Arabia conducted joint naval exercises with Iran in the Sea of Oman. This event marked an important shift in relations between the two countries. Historically, Saudi Arabia and Iran have been rivals, often supporting opposing factions in regional conflicts. Their diplomatic ties were severed in 2016. However, a surprising agreement brokered by China last year (2023) led to a resumption of relations.

Coast Guard Launches Two Indigenous Fast Patrol Vessels for Offshore Security
The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) launched two indigenous fast patrol vessels built for the Indian Coast Guard to protect offshore assets, island territories, and conduct surveillance operations.
The vessels, Adamya and Akshar, were ceremonially launched by Priya Paramesh, wife of Indian Coast Guard Director General (DG) Paramesh Sivamani. These ships have been designed and constructed in-house by GSL to meet the specific requirements of the Indian Coast Guard.
Each vessel measures 52 meters in length, with a breadth of 8 meters, a maximum speed of 27 knots, and a displacement of 320 tons, powered by a CPP-based propulsion system. The keel for both vessels was laid by Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane on August 25, 2023, and this simultaneous launch marks the first use of GSL's advanced Ship Lift System.

Navy Chief Tripathi Inaugurates 'Swavlamban 2024' Exhibition in Delhi
The third edition of the Indian Navy's Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Seminar, Swavlamban – 2024, was held in New Delhi. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi inaugurated the two-day event at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Swavalamban.
Swavlamban – 2024 aimed at promoting the innovation and indigenisation endeavours of the Indian Navy. Several companies and start-ups participated in the Swavalamban 2024 showcasing products of niche technologies such as air and surface surveillance, autonomous systems in surface, aerial, and underwater domains, AI, and quantum technologies.
