DST and DRDO Join Hands to Strengthen India's Space Surveillance

In a move to enhance India's space surveillance capabilities, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) entered into a strategic partnership. The agreement was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, and Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun. This collaboration aims to strengthen India's ground-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA) through the joint use of cutting-edge observational facilities and research expertise.

India Successfully Tests Home-grown 'Bhargavastra' Counter-Swarm Drone System

India successfully tested the new low-cost counter swarm drone system, 'Bhargavastra' developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL). The counter-drone system was successfully tested at the Seaward Firing Range in Gopalpur, Odisha.
Bhargavastra operates in hard kill mode and can detect and eliminate small and incoming drones at distances of up to 2.5 km.

Aerolloy Technologies Inaugurated India's Largest Single-site Titanium and Superalloy Plant

In a landmark achievement for India's defense and aerospace sectors, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, inaugurated the world's largest single-site titanium and superalloy materials plant at the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC). The event, graced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also saw the foundation stones laid for seven additional state-of-the-art facilities under India's first Strategic Materials Technology Complex.
This milestone positions India among an elite group of nations capable of producing aerospace-grade strategic materials, significantly reducing reliance on costly imports and reinforcing the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) vision.
Spanning 50 acres, the newly inaugurated titanium and superalloy plant boasts an annual capacity of 6,000 tonnes, making it the largest single-site titanium remelting facility globally.
The facility addresses India's longstanding dependence on imported defense-grade materials, which currently cost Rs. 14,000 crore annually and are projected to rise to Rs. 35,000 crore by 2026.

Rajnath Singh Launches BrahMos Manufacturing Facility in Lucknow

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile production facility at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow. Built with an investment of Rs. 300 crore, the unit aims to manufacture 80–100 BrahMos missiles annually, significantly enhancing India's self-reliance in defence manufacturing amid growing regional security concerns.
The inauguration of the BrahMos missile manufacturing facility has brought India a step closer to achieving defence self-sufficiency under the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative.

Arnala First Indigenous Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft Delivered to Navy

In a boost to India's maritime capabilities, 'Arnala', the first in a series of eight indigenously designed Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (ASW-SWCs), was delivered to the Indian Navy.
'Arnala', the first of the eight ASW-SWCs (Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft), is indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.
The warship has been designed and constructed as per the Classification Rules of Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) of GRSE with MIs L&T Shipyard.
Arnala is named after the historic fort 'Arnala' located off Vasai, Maharashtra, a reflection of India's rich maritime heritage. The 77 m long warship, is the largest Indian Naval warship propelled by a Diesel Engine-Waterjet combination.

CENJOWS Hosts MRSAM-India Eco-System Summit 2.0

The Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), in collaboration with Aerospace Services India (ASI) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), successfully hosted the Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) India Eco-System Summit 2.0 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The day-long summit brought together key stakeholders from India's defence eco-system, highlighting collaborative achievements and future possibilities in enhancing the country's air & missile defence capabilities under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives.
The event witnessed participation from senior representatives of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Armed Forces, DRDO, Bharat Electronics Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited, and leading Indian defence manufacturers. The participants voiced a shared commitment to elevate India's position as a global hub for advanced defence systems, with ASI reaffirming its vision to become India's premier defence service provider.
