Writer Rajeshwari Tejaswi Passes Away

Rajeshwari Tejasw writer and wife of late writer K. P. Poornachandra Tejaswi, passed away in Bengaluru.
Rajeshwari began writing only after the death of Tejaswi in 2007. She wrote her first book 'Nanna Tejaswi' shortly after Tejaswi's demise, and was an account of their life together. The book went on to have over six reprints. She later wrote a personal memoir titled 'Namma Menegoo Bandaru Gandhiji'.
She had been actively involved in the activities of K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi Trust at Kottigehara in Mudigere taluk.

Mahakavi Subramania Bharati's Birth Anniversary

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu paid tribute to the great freedom fighter and poet extraordinaire Mahakavi Subramania Bharati on his birth anniversary.
In a tweet, he said, Subramania Bharati was a literary genius, journalist and social reformer who cared deeply for the downtrodden. He said, Bharati's writings infused the spirit of nationalism in people and continue to enjoy universal appeal.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee's Birth Anniversary

President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to former President Pranab Mukherjee on his Birth Anniversary.
He paid floral tributes in front of a portrait of Pranab Mukherjee at Raj Bhavan, Uttarakhand.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu paid tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee on his birth anniversary.
In a tweet, Mr. Naidu said, Pranab Mukherjee was an erudite statesman, towering intellectual and a consensus builder. He said Pranab Da served the nation with distinction in various capacities.

Masayuki Uemura, Creator of Nintendo's iconic NES Console, Passed Away

Masayuki Uemura, a Japanese home computer game pioneer whose Nintendo consoles sold millions of units worldwide, has died, according to the university in Kyoto where he taught. He was 78.
Uemura, the lead architect behind Nintendo Co.'s trailblazing home game consoles, died, Ritsumeikan University said in a statement. The cause of his death was not released.
Born in Tokyo in 1943, Uemura studied electronic engineering at the Chiba Institute of Technology and joined Nintendo in 1971.
Uemura was tasked by then-president Hiroshi Yamauchi in 1981 with developing a home console for games like Donkey Kong, which was a huge hit in the United States at the time but only available for arcade use.

Indian American Raghavan promoted to key White House post under Biden rule

US President Joe Biden elevated Indian American Gautam Raghavan to a new position making him head of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.
Biden announced Raghavan's promotion to the key White House post after UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced his intent to appoint Cathy Russell as the next executive director of UNICEF.
Russell is currently the head of WH PPO.
A first-generation immigrant, Raghavan was born in India, raised in Seattle and graduated from Stanford University. He is the editor of "West Wingers: Stories from the Dream Chasers, Change Makers, and Hope Creators Inside the Obama White House." He lives with his husband and their daughter in Washington, DC.

India's First CDS and Longest Serving 4-star Officer Passes Away

General Bipin Rawat, India's first Chief of Defence Staff, his wife madhulika Rawat and 11 others have been killed in the chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. General Rawat was 63.
CDS Rawat was instrumental in creating foundation of India's joint theatre commands, a major reform in Indian military establishment since Independence and also for changing the way the Army had been functioning for many decades.
CDS Rawat was commissioned into the Indian Army in December 1978. He previously served as Chief of the Army Staff from January 2017 to December 2019. He took charge of Chief of Defence Staff in January 2020.

Shri Sunil Arora Joined IDEA

Shri Sunil Arora, former Chief Election Commissioner of India has joined the Board of Advisers for International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA).
Shri Sunil Arora brings rich leadership experience, knowledge and skills to contribute significantly to the working of the International Institute. The Institute is assisted by a 15-member Board of Advisers who are eminent personalities or experts from a wide variety of backgrounds.
The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), established in 1995, is an intergovernmental organization based in Stockholm, Sweden with a mission to support sustainable democracy worldwide. International IDEA currently has 34 member countries which include large and small, older and newer democracies from all continents. India has been one of the founding members of IDEA.

Nanda Prusty died in Bhubaneswar

Centenarian teacher Nanda Prusty, a class 8 pass-out who had been educating children and village elders free of cost for the last seven decades in Odisha, died at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The 104-year-old teacher, popularly known as Nanda Master', was bestowed with the Padma Shri on November 9 for his long contribution in the field of education and social service.
Expressing sadness at Prusty's demise, Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, Nation will always remember this noble soul for his selfless service.

Konijeti Rosaiah Died

Former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and veteran Congress leader Konijeti Rosaiah died on 4th December, 2021.
He was 88.
Rosaiah political journey began in 1968 as an MLC. He also served as the Governor of Tamil Nadu from August 31, 2011 to August 30, 2016.
