Former SBI Chief Rajnish Kumar Launches Memoir 'The Custodian of Trust'

Former Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI) Rajnish Kumar has come out with his memoir titled 'The Custodian of Trust – A Banker's Memoir'. The book has been published by Penguin Random House India. It gave a rare insight of how the financial system in our country works. The Custodian of Trust presents Kumar's journey from a modest house in the old city of Meerut to being a probationary officer in SBI in 1980 and growing to the post of Chairman in 2017.

Book 'Economist Gandhi' by Jaithirth Rao

Indian Entrepreneur and writer Jaithirth Rao, popularly known as Jerry Rao, has come out with a book on Mahatma Gandhi titled "Economist Gandhi: The Roots and the Relevance of the Political Economy of the Mahatma". Jaithirth Rao is the founder and former CEO of the software company Mphasis.
The book examines Mahatma Gandhi's economic philosophy and his hidden facet personality- thoughts on economics and capitalism. The book has been published by the Penguin Random House India.

Book on Himachal History Released

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar released a book titled 'Devdhara: Himachal Pradesh' written by Dr. Rachna Gupta, a member of the Public Service Commission, and published by the National Book Trust.
As per Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the book would act as a ready reckoner not only for the people of Himachal but also for tourists, as it narrates the history of all 12 districts and informs about all sectors since the inception of the state in 1971.
The details of development of Himachal in the past 50 years in various sectors have been incorporated in the book. It also mentions the Simla Agreement, visits of Mahatma Gandhi, right to vote for women, and the struggle for becoming an independent state that make it interesting to read.

Chronicles from the 'Land of the Happiest People on Earth' by Wole Soyinka

A novel titled 'Chronicles from the Land of the Happiest People on Earth' authored by Wole Soyinka has been released. Wole Soyinka is Africa's first Nobel laureate in Literature. He wrote his last novel 'Season of Anomy' in 1973. He returns with a new novel after nearly 50 years. His notable plays include 'The Jero Plays', 'The Road', 'The Lion and the Jewel', 'Madmen and Specialists' and 'From Zia, With Love'.

Book Battle of Rezang La by Kulpreet Yadav

A new book titled "The Battle of Rezang La" tells the story of 120 Indian soldiers who put up a valiant fight against the 5,000-strong Chinese military troops in the 1962 Indo-China war, preventing a possible occupation of the entire Ladakh region. The Battle of Rezang La", published under Penguin Random House's "Veer" imprint, is written by ex-naval officer and author Kulpreet Yadav.
