Former UN Assistant Secretary General Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri Launches Debut Book 'Swallowing the...

Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri, wife of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, celebrated the launch of her debut book 'Swallowing the Sun' in Mumbai. The novel, set during the time of independence, draws inspiration from Puri's parents and her roots in Maharashtra, aiming to illuminate themes of women empowerment and cultural heritage.
Lakshmi is a former assistant Secretary-General at the United Nations and a former deputy executive director of UN WOMEN, the first global organisation to promote gender equality. She has also been India's ambassador to countries such as Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
'Swallowing the Sun' is deeply rooted in Lakshmi Puri's personal history and heritage, drawing inspiration from her upbringing in Maharashtra.
The novel explores themes of women empowerment through its protagonist, shedding light on the struggles and triumphs of women during a pivotal period in Indian history.

A Book title 'Basic Structure and Republic'

A book written by Goa Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai was released by Archbishop of Changanacherry, Kerala, H. G. Mar Joseph Perumthottam.
This book titled 'Basic Structure and Republic' was released in Panaji.
The book, symbolises the unity of religious and state leadership in recognising intellectual achievements. The first copy was presented to Shri. Subhash Shirodkar, embodying the collaborative spirit between the governance and the intellectual discourse. Smt. Rita Shreedharan Pillai, the First Lady of Goa, also graced the event, adding to its prestige.

Former Supreme Court Judge V. Gopala Gowda Unveils Book Titled 'Maha Swaapnikudu'

Former Supreme Court judge V. Gopala Gowda released a book on former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, titled 'Maha Swaapnikudu' (A Great Visionary).
It was published by Koduri Venkat, an NRI, and authored by journalist P. Vikram.
Naidu's political saga began in the late 1970s as a leader in the Youth Congress, eventually making a monumental shift to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), founded by his father-in-law and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao. This book narrates Naidu's transformation from a budding politician to a pivotal figure in Indian politics, highlighting his significant contributions and visionary leadership.
One of the focal points of 'Maha Swaapnikudu' is Naidu's instrumental role in the elevation of Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee, H.D. Deve Gowda, and I.K. Gujral.

'At the Pleasure of His Majesty: IM Lall and The Case that Shook the Crown' was launched at the Delhi High Court.
The book delves into the life and legal battle of Inder Mohan Lall, an Indian Civil Services (ICS) officer and the author's grandfather.
The book launch was attended by Supreme Court judges Justices Hima Kohli and Sanjay Karol, Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice Manmohan, former Supreme Court judge Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and former CEO of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant.
