Indian Railways Launches "Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana"

Indian Railways took a leap in advancement of Skill India Mission by launching the "Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana (RKVY)" under the aegis of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)".
RKVY was launched by Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
This Mission will provide Railways an entry level training in industry relevant skills with the help of 75 Railway training institutes across India.
Under RKVY, training will be provided to 50000 candidates in a period of three years. In the initial phase, training will be provided to 1000 candidates. Youth will be trained in four trades namely, Electrician, Welder, Machinist and Fitter. Mission comprises of initial basic training of 100 hours. In later phases, zonal railways will add other trades to the training programs. Youth will be trained for free and participants will be selected from applications received online, on the basis of marks in matriculation. Candidates who are 10th passed and between 18-35 years shall be eligible to apply.

Yogi Announces Launch of UP Matra Bhumi Yojana

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced the launch of 'Uttar Pradesh Matra Bhumi Yojana' that seeks to make the common man a direct participant in the development work of the state and strengthen the participatory rural economy and infrastructure.
Under this, every person will get a chance to directly participate in various works of infrastructure development in villages. The government will bear 50 per cent of the total cost of the project, while the remaining 50 % will be contributed by the interested people. In return the project can be named after the relatives of the collaborators as per their wish.

Chhattisgarh Govt. Launches 'Millet Mission'

Chhattisgarh government launched the "Millet Mission" with the objective of making the state a millet hub of India.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel highlighted that, "like minor forest produce, the state wants to make small grain crops its strength.
To implement this mission, an MoU was signed between Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad and collectors of 14 Chhattisgarh districts under "Millet Mission".
Millet Mission initiative was launched with the aim of giving the farmers right price for small cereal crops and to provide them input assistance, procurement arrangements and processing. This mission also seeks to ensure that the farmers get benefit from the expertise of experts.
The districts in the state of Chhattisgarh that have been included under the mission include: Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Sukma, Dantewada, Bijapur, Narayanpur, Balrampur, Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Koriya and Surajpur.

Govt Extends Scope under Transport & Marketing Scheme for Agricultural Exports

In order to enhance agri exports, the central government has enhanced the scope of Transport and Marketing Assistance (TMA) scheme for specified agriculture products by increasing rate of interest and including dairy products under its purview, and extended the scheme till March 31, 2022.
"Enhanced assistance under the revised scheme is expected to help Indian exporters of agricultural products to meet rising freight and logistics costs," the ministry of commerce said in a statement.
Dairy products, which were not covered under the earlier scheme, will also be eligible for assistance under the scheme. Apart from that, the rates of assistance have been increased, by 50% for exports by sea and by 100% for exports by air. "Now the Department of Commerce has notified revised TMA for specified agriculture products scheme for exports effected on or after April 1, 2021 up to March 31, 2022," the statement said.

Jharkhand Passes Bill for 75% Quota in Private Sector Jobs for Locals

The Jharkhand Assembly passed a bill that provides for 75 per cent reservation to locals in jobs with salaries up to Rs. 40,000 a month in the private sector amid uproarious scenes.
Once the Jharkhand State Employment of Local Candidates in Private Sector Bill, 2021, is enacted, Jharkhand will become the third state in the country after Andhra Pradesh and Haryana having a law providing for reservation in private sector jobs for local residents.
The bill was earlier cleared by a select committee of the Jharkhand Assembly with some changes.
It was tabled during the budget session in March and was referred for vetting to a six-member select committee formed by Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto.
